UIL 2A State Marching Contest (Nov 4)

Areas A and C very likely to sweep top 6.

Sundown is reigning champ and best band in 2A history, Lockney and Panhandle both had great runs last year and could have made an argument to be on the podium. Area A is traditionally the strongest 2A area and there could be some others that make a jump as well.

Rivercrest has been the best band in 2A over the past 2 years and will be looking to win their 2nd in 3 years, this is a strong possibility. Clarksville is a traditional powerhouse that wants back in the conversation after finishing 9th last year,  apparently they brought in a whole new set of directors and the kids are bought back in with big numbers. Tenaha is coming off of being the TMEA honor band,  Midwest honor band, and a nice state finals run.

Valley Mills or Ganado could possibly get in but I think those are the only spoilers.

It looks like Rivercrest, Tenaha, Valley Mills are all going to meet at the Mineola Iron Horse Classic.

I have a feeling Rivercrest will win it this year. Also don’t sleep on Ganado, they could be sneaky good this year.

Really unsure at the moment. Definitely see Shiner, Ganado, Rivercrest, Tenaha, Lockney, and Sundown making finals.

I saw Shiner’s run from area, and just wow! It was really good! Guard had a few rough moments at the beginning of their show, but started really getting it together after that! I also heard Ganado is doing well this year too. Definitely excited to see what happens on Tuesday.

I agree but the area C bands weren't very clean last Saturday. I think they'll have it fixed by Tuesday, but if they don't I could see them dropping a few spots.

I really love watching the smaller division high schools perform.  Growing up, my band was 5A, but even so, in a lot of ways. these performances remind me of what band was like "back in my day" and I really enjoy the simpler feel of it.

I think they were accidentally leaving the field mics on during the announcements and interviews, so we were catching both the direct mic'd vocals, and the vocals broadcast into the Alamodome.  They seem to have fixed that after the first couple of bands.
