Some crazy results is true! It seems Richland and the colony are as strong as they have in these past two seasons, which is a bit surprising. It’s great to see Lakeview Centennial doing so well here, thanks for the update.

They don't release recaps. From the looks of things, they don't even release scores -- just placements.

I caught a lot of performances and over heard that legacy was less than a point off finals, that being with the tear they had during performance, congrats to them and all the other bands though for a great preliminary performance, and to the finals bands, have a great run. What a contest!

This is definitely not how I thought this contest would go, congratulations to North Mesquite! Does anyone thats at this contest have any insight to Richland, I would’ve had them medaling before today?!

There’s a lot of talk about captions, but let’s remember that Birdville won 3 captions, and it was just music. Woodwind, Brass, and Overall Music. On the 5A recap, all their visual scores tanked their overall score. North Mesquite didn’t have any “first place” scores except for GE (which wasn’t awarded like last year- which lead to TC winning last year), but they were top 2 in everything except percussion. Birdville’s GE, guard, and marching killed them. Let’s not think about the number of captions, because it was all just music, which is only one aspect of the activity.

GE was not awarded, but NM won GE and TC won guard

I am curious why Little Elm didn't win any of the music captions, and I also don't understand why Richland wasn't in the top 3 at least. Richland's show is one of their best shows in years, rivaling 2019. Richland should've won the visual or auxiliary captions, if not general music too. Little Elm sounded cracked on the lot; they should've won best brass. Boswell should've also gotten best woodwinds.

Richland was much worse musically in finals compared to prelims, according to the judges. One prelims judge gave them 990/1000 in music, and they didn't get higher than 850 from either in finals.

least to say we are all shocked and quite don't agree with some of the results/scoring. I'm not saying that the top 5 bands don't deserve their placements and captions, but I do wish we had better judging. I don't think Richland was horrible I did think it was AT LEAST top 5 material. And same thing with boswell should have gotten best woodwinds caption.
