Alright, since we're doing this... Here's my probably wrong predictions. To increase my chances of being not wrong, I'm claiming this as a possibility for either prelims or finals 😂. Though I'm skeptical Richland will be top 3 in prelims given their draw time.

1. Burleson Centennial

2. Aledo

3. Richland

4. Midlothian

5. Grapevine

6. Birdville

Everything after that goes from mostly speculation to pure speculation.

I do think the top 4 is entirely interchangeable. A lights-out performance from any of those 4 could win this contest. (Notice I don't say "will.") If more than one has a lights-out performance... I think there's no way of predicting what happens. I think BC is the most consistent of the top 4 this year and so has the best claim for the top spot, but Aledo has points for historical consistency here.

That said... There is also the possibility that Grapevine sneaks into the top 4 if they had an energetic run without losing visual cleanliness and musical balance/accuracy. I do think it's an outside shot, but -- as with their placements over Duncanville and Boswell at different competitions this season -- I don't think it's impossible. Plus, the judges here are likely to appreciate what Grapevine is doing.

I still think of Colleyville Heritage as a possible finalist. Their upper limit for achievement is still towards the middle of the top 10 for me, they're just set back by design integration (it's not a bad show, just lacking in sophisticated element integration and continuity) and some persistent musical and visual dirt. But with the right staff insights those are fixable things, at least relative to the task of making area finals.

I will say that, somewhat selfishly, I look forward to being a spectator for such a large number of bubble bands. I have no intention of sleeping on anyone. In fact, that's why it seems like I'm sleeping on just about everyone in the bottom of finals placement range. With the exception of CH sheerly as a wild card, I don't feel comfortable singling anyone out. 😂

This season has been the worst prelim performance times since I’ve been with Richland. But it has prepared the band for this moment. I was at the practice at the stadium on Monday with the pre show and closer presentation . It’s a wonderful production on par with 2023 and definitely better than 2024. I think it will be an eye opening show since it has not been performed in any contest or game. Even at the Aledo game it was cut short due to time.

my predictions are simple and easy

1. Aledo (obv first pick)

2. Cen10 (always been on top and its between them and aledo for 1st)

3. Midlothian (I do like this new era of midlo I really like the show theme)

4. Birdville (best birdville I've seen in a while, most enjoyable show in area f this year. executed well)

5. Grapevine  (its clean but musically its just not there. decent show theme)

6. Richland (its not bad at all, but they will be performing there closer for the first time at area, ive heard they've been sending there closer to people but its not the same as live feedback don't think they will cut it this year.

7. Azle (I don't know, the fire within is very cookie cutter but I'm sure they execute it well.)

8. Saginaw ( I love Saginaw and I was really disappointed when they didn't make area finals last year. but the comeback WILL be bigger then the set back.)

9. Joshua (beat brewer this year at spring town very very surprised with there show this year "northern lights"

10. Granbury (the fly over is really cool and I watched them and its very well put together)

I'm looking forward to the judging for percussion and the new content scoring, I KNOW that it shake up alot of score

Based on all the legitimate predictions, it is going to be a great 5A Area F competition.  Excited to see how it all plays out.

I have not been able to watch all the shows for the projected contenders, so I do not have a prediction myself. But I am intrigued by those that suggest the usual #1, (the band that shall not be named), may be having a down year.

If true, that is great for everyone.  We all know they should be competing with the 6A schools.  However, I think that since they perform last in prelims, this will give them a stronger opportunity to come out of prelims in 1st place and thus providing a more difficult challenge for the other top contenders to takeover the #1 spot in finals. Hoping we can crown a new and different Area F Champion this year!

Wishing all the bands their best runs of the year and may the odds be ever in your favor.

And Aledo is up to 2,400 this year in enrollment, so they will be moving up to 6A next year.
