Hey!

Last year was definitely interesting, I'm curious to see predictions for this year!!

Aledo and BC are my only locks

i think Richland and CH will be back 

hoping Grapevine can take 5th, they deserve it after these last couple seasons, though Midlo assuming another strong show won’t be ez to take down, especially with the momentum they have to ride

Bro it’s soooo hard to predict Azle bc they always do so well at local comps/boa but then can’t ever make state 😭 like idk what it is but it feels like every year they have a chance and then don’t make it

I would think Richland is a lock along with Aledo and BC. They qualified for State the last three season just missed beating out Aledo in 2023. This seasons show will be as strong with the possibility of excelling the past two seasons. I do hope Area F gets 5 representatives again, I feel the last two spots can be anyone’s.

Its pretty much locks with aledo and bc with colleyville, richland, grapevine, birdville coming in close. Its gonna be a tough time this year with hopefully grapevine and birdville coming back for the state spot. Does anyone know what grapevines, richlands or birdvilles show is this year?

I am curious about Birdville considering their placement last year. 

my hope here is that Azle gets to state. Like they’re also so good at local/boa comps and always make finals here. Currently thinking it’s gonna be the same 10 finalist as last year

i can see a state run from azle in a few years but i mainly hope they make it this year they definitely deserve it. And with birdville i feel that they can compete for a state spot like they usally do every year. i hope to see great things from birdville this year.

I think that last year was just an off year for birdville. they have a ton of new design people for this year and I'm expecting big things. I've seen other schools show designs and I think that overall this will be a really good year for the area.

 Richland isnt a state lock for me, the only noteable talent ive seen in their brass is gone. they got a well blended sound usually but it only gets you so far. midlo is definintely top 3 material again

seems like a much more probable top 5 for me, BC has made state 3ish years in a row by this point.

I either did not realize it or I forgot, but in terms of UIL competitivity CH has been at the top of their game since 2019 or so. That's where all of their state appearances are concentrated. I knew they made BOA SA finals and/or were on the bubble for that a handful of times in the mid-to-late 2000's, and so always assumed they had made 5A UIL state at some point around then. But that was back when UIL state alternated, and it looks like they had their stronger years on non-UIL seasons. 

Anyway, it probably doesn't meaning anything about upcoming season scores, but it does give me a different perspective on what it means for their program to be and have been competitive for a state spot in this area the past few years.

Richland show is “The Third Dimension”.  Watched there first stadium practice and the show will be stronger than last year, has the potential to surpass the volcano show two seasons ago which was received well by the judges and just missed beating Aledo but it’s all about learning the drill, music and performing it.

I believe Aledo had a pretty large penalty in 2023, so basing Richland's potential to beat Aledo off of that isn't a great way to look at it.

My take on Richland this year is kind of odd, I definitely think they will make state of course but I honestly can't see them beating Heritage, BC, or even midlo this year. I've been attending preview shows and they are kind of behind the latter in cleanliness and even difficulty of show but I guess we will have to wait and see in october, area f never fails to excite. 👍

You are correct, it’s exciting to have good program in our Area to compete against.

Sounds like an excuse. My point was Richland was within striking distance and that was a good indicator that they had a good show to expect good results at the state contest.

Not an excuse, they literally left a rifle on the field during their finals run, which resulted in a 5-point penalty. This means Richland's "competing" with them wasn't as close as you think. Look at this last season, with Richland not even making finals and Aledo placing 5th.

I hope so, I believe THAT birdville WILL  be a state lock 🙏 I hope and pray for them in fact I love their show this year it’s definitely a step up from last year.

I think you’re confusing last year with two years ago. Aledo place 1st in Area F and Richland place 2nd. This was Richland show called Under Pressure. At state two years ago Richland advance to finals Aledo did not. Last year Aledo place 1st and Richland place 5th. Aledo made finals Richland did not.
