Yeah JJ is just there based on how they did last year, but I could see the 2-5 change up some. And yes, they are. 14th at state last year and they’ve got a big season so I’d be very shocked if they weren’t cooking super hard, and they seem to be bigger this year, but yeah they should do well here

I definitely think they'll make finals here but I'm thinking the 9-12 range, but then again, I could be completely wrong. Last year they did do very well so I wouldn't be super shocked to see them in the middle

Largely agree with these. I think top 5 could change a lot by next month though, and Rockwall Heath definitely could sneak into finals.

I have absolutely no confirmation for this but I don’t think Celina will stick around for finals at this comp. They are performing in Princeton at either 4 or 5:00, and logistically it doesn’t seem like they will trek back to McKinney. That might open an extra spot for finals

Most of bands I saw this week only put on about 3/4 of shows so really hard to project/predict without using reputation as a key factor. Looking at the 12 posted above, could really see it winding up 12 different ways. Going to be a great day in McKinney

And....this contest just became that much crazier after this weekend. Have absolutely no idea how things will go but here's my final take for now, might change if I get the chance to see some videos but not much has been posted so far from yesterday:

I definitely think Heath can surprise people this year but my gut says they will fly under the radar and strike at Area making finals. 
 

They chose not to go anywhere yesterday with Homecoming. 
 

McKinney they have like the 2nd march of the morning, don’t like that for them. 
 

Prosper BOA will be their 2nd boa and stacked competition, I don’t expect finals. 
 

Very conceivable they walk into Area having only run their show 3 times in competition.

Yes, they are. I haven't seen anything from yesterday, but I saw their HT run a couple weeks ago and I'm not shocked at all that they did that well. They are definitely a dark horse for state and could very well be top half here...if they don't peak to early/let of the gas.
