BandNerd07 Posted October 24, 2025 Posted October 24, 2025 Wow, it really seems like someone in this area is always getting DQ’d, first Wakeland, then Lovejoy, and now The Colony. Definitely sucks for the seniors though getting robbed of what is most likely their last performance of the season.
1234567 Posted October 24, 2025 Posted October 24, 2025 1. Wakeland 2. Lone Star 3. Lebanon Trail 4. Argyle/McKinney North 5. McKinney North/Argyle/Reedy 6. McKinney North/Reedy 7. Independence 8. Walnut Grove 9. Heritage 10. Liberty its genuinely a toss up after the 1st 3, however i can see LT being 2nd as well, i really liked their show
Toasty Posted October 24, 2025 Posted October 24, 2025 Is there going to be a new schedule now without the colony? Or will every group after them just get moved up?

I regret the negative comments about their marching but I still am unsure about how they will rank this year. They can for sure make finals but I cant figure out where they could place. Probably 7th - 10th

They were already in the last block, so either the three groups after them will move up, or there will just be a judge break inserted. Schedules for most groups shouldn't change.

A DQ could affect the number of groups advancing. On the other hand, if a group makes a 1, but opts to not attend area, it would not affect the number of bands advancing because they made a superior rating. Fortunately, the number of groups were not affected.

cheesecurd21 Posted October 25, 2025 Posted October 25, 2025 Since Liberty and Emerson are going so early where do you guys think that will put them in prelims? Same goes for the stacked last group going at the end of finals

Popular Post glyde Posted October 25, 2025 Popular Post Posted October 25, 2025 One week out to this area! Been so fun to watch the progress in these programs! With that, my locked in predictions are made ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1.Wakeland- (cool music and show, will most probably win finals) 2.Lone Star- (one of the best productions they have ever had, has a good shot at winning this area) 3.Lebanon Trail - (They have been on fire this year after last years tragic results, will for sure be making state finals.) 4.Argyle - (This show has grown on me musically, they have a good shot at top 10 in finals as well) 5.Reedy - (Another program on fire, they do have the shine to get a state spot!) 6.Mckinney North - (This show is entertianing in my books, great ballad and visuals. But as of the new judging critrea rubric, I dont know how it will score, they still have a chance at 4-5th but after seeing there contest scores, they have lost to all of these bands above them(including Liberty). 7.Liberty - (This band is so clean visually and I love it, they have the chance to perform well here) 8.Walnut Grove - (The show is not the most interesting concept yet the school performs the heck out of it. Very good showing from the band this year) 9.Independence - (Yes this school has a humoungus brass sound without a doubt, I can see them making finals this year but I dont see them placing above WG or Liberty) 10.Emerson - (After not making finals last year, they have a good shot at making it this year, music is very entertaining! Music matches well with the theme which is great for them) Anything is possible so 4-10 can be suprising but my 1-3 are locked in. Best of luck to all programs this week! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bubbles(in no particular order) Memorial Melissa Heritage Anna Also I am deeply sorry for those at The Colony who will not get to compete this year due to the elligibily conflicts. I hope they can come back next year to a good season. I noticed on the USBands website that they enrolled for the AT&T Championship which is good for them, wish them well. TrumpetLord Posted October 25, 2025 Posted October 25, 2025 here’s my updated predictions for finals since everyone else is doing theirs XD 1. Wakeland - need i say more? crazy skill and great theme 2. Lone Star - holy brass, this show is so energetic and fun. i could def see them beating wakeland 3. Lebanon Trail - They want revenge after last year, show theme is also very cool 4. Reedy - The growth of this program is insane. watching the crown last year was amazing and i see them doing very well at finals, maybe even passing LT 5. Argyle - show is great once again but competition is so stacked. Reedy Argyle and LT could definitely be fighting for this state spot 6. McKinney North - Very fun show to watch, but some of the visual aspects are lack luster. wish we could see a little more marching from them : / nonetheless a great program and show! 7. Independence - very powerful brass and some great visual clarity 8. Walnut Grove - WG and Indy are such a toss up for me. IMO i think it will just come down to who has a better run. Also i’ve said it before, their lead trumpet is killer 9. Liberty - haven’t seen much of this show but i know they will pull through with a great performance at finals 10. Emerson - sorta same situation as WG/Indy. they could definitely overtake liberty. Great soloists too(and for every band mentioned(: ) as for the runner ups for finals, i think Heritage and Memorial could fight for that last finals spot. they both have great shows. whatever judge gave heritage a 2 at region must’ve been watching a different show. kinda got Bluecoats 2016 vibes from memorials show design XD Good luck to everyone at area next week! glyde and Bluecoat 2

Popular Post jamminsalmon_ Posted October 26, 2025 Popular Post Posted October 26, 2025 after attending the uil 6a area j contest i have been converted and can confidently say that reedy will be performing at this contest! #golions? tc is my alum and while i am beyond heartbroken that they dont have the chance to prove their worth, i know that they'll be able to bounce back next year and i wish them nothing but the best in rebuilding from such an unfortunate situation. #gocougs ✊ beyond excited to see how things shake up this coming saturday glyde, ReedyTubas, Hooskay and 1 other 4
Popular Post cheesecurd21 Posted October 26, 2025 Popular Post Posted October 26, 2025 Gonna throw out some crazy predictions and go through all of prelims cause I feel like this year will be super unpredictable and anything could happen (so don’t take me too seriously but i’m not just guessing) 1. Lone Star (Obviously Wakeland could take 1st but i’ve got a good feeling about Lone Star) 2. Wakeland (Duh top 2) 3. Lebanon Trail (Showed up early and proved they want it, don’t think any of the other bands below can beat them) 4. Walnut Grove (I haven’t seen anyone put them this high but despite show design they’re performing at a very high level and some of their individual captions reflect that despite placements) 5. Argyle (Same as WG regarding show design, but they’re still very good) 6. Reedy (So much improvement, clean, nice sound. See them bouncing back from last year. Could overtake Argyle and WG but i’m feeling them in 6th even though they had some great results early season) 7. Emerson (Same as Reedy. Insane progress in whatever amount of time it was since MMI. Could actually see them getting higher if the improvement doesn’t stop and the performance quality increases) 8. Mckinney North (I know, very hot take. Not to say anything bad about the program but I just don’t feel it this year for them. A ton of other bands in this area showed they can beat them) 9. Independence (Also same as Reedy and Emerson. Not overrated but I think they’ll land around this range. 8th could happen, but 10th could also. Love the brass) 10. Liberty (Very solid. Again, not overhyped, but I see a solid 10th from them, don’t see a world where they are out of finals but also don’t really see them above these other schools) 11. Heritage (Good band but in a very tough area. I can’t see them above Liberty and that means I see them just outside of finals. Also not sure how they got a 2 at UIL) 12. Melissa (Love the music, visually somewhat weak and lacking in difficulty but I love their sound and ballad soloists) 13. Lovejoy (Small but nice show) 14. Memorial (Nice program, director change affected them I think) 15. Centennial (Haven’t seen them since showcase but this feels somewhat right for them) 16. Anna (Like lovejoy, small, very unique design but not bad at all) 17. Frisco 18. Denison 19. Sherman 20. Ryan 21. Denton If you disagree that’s fine but i’m somewhat going wild here. Not entirely though, as I do feel like this could really happen. Obviously the most flexibility is in that 4-8 range, where honestly any of those bands could take the 4th spot with the right mindset going into this last week. And like everyone is saying, deeply sorry for the people at TC unfairly affected by this. Would’ve had them in that back half of finals range, excited to see them next year! astronautika, Miswordedstatements, Drumlineyesyesyes and 5 others 4 4
