I've heard whispers that Royse City might also drop to 5A

Berkner has been steadily dropping in enrollment for the last few years and  theyre already close to the cutoff, I wouldn't be surprised if they drop to 5A

also I heard rumors of Richardson getting 1st in percussion execution and 2nd in content last weekend. no clue where the full sheet is but that would make the 5th in music from the third judge make a ton of sense

as much as i want them to stay in J, they'd be pretty good candidates to replace Rowlett and Garland in 6A because they're in the same football district as Sachse and North Garland.

As Wylie East, yeah going back to C would make sense, and balance a lot of other things out. I wouldn’t mind seeing the old Mesquite Eiffel tower again for Area

Moving down to 5A next year so far will be Garland, Mesquite, Rowlett, and Lancaster. 6A Area C will almost assuredly be seeing major changes next year.

I think they just need to get rid of Area J and revert back to what it used to be. Put Regions 5, 20, 30, and 31 in Area B and Regions 2, 3, 21, 24, and 35 in Area C. 2-3 state spots is NOT enough for a metroplex 6A Area. Area B also had a scare after North Crowley and Weatherford got 2’s but luckily everyone in Region 5 advanced. But how about Area J? Wakeland is on the bubble and if they move up, it’s going to be insane. I guarantee everyone in Area J is praying for Wakeland to stay in 5A. I think adding a third area has caused more problems than solution IMO.

If this holds true we would bump down to 3 state spots. That’s not good , and if the Wylie's come back to replace the schools we lose to 5A, you can basically kiss those non Forney and Waxahachie state spots good bye. We’d go back to the Area of doom from 2 years ago. Would spell bad for band like even the Rockwalls and the Richardsons. Bands like Northforney who right now would be close, would be bumped down a few pegs. I really hope it does not cause any major realignments that would hinder some of our schools to have the success theyre having. I guess we will see

Region 25 coming back to Area C is inevitable. It's where they've always been before last year. I also think Region 20 should stay in Area C; they were always here before their Area B days. The only thing I don't know is how you balance the remaining J Regions and Area B (cause I for sure don't want Regions 2 and 24 back here lol).

The ideal area under the current 6A view would be Regions 3, 4, 20, 21, and 25, giving us 27 6A bands on the draw minimum. The 5 in my opinion would be:

1. Wax
2. Wylie
3. Forney
4. Rockwall
5. Wylie East / Sachse

Wylie East and Sachse would be your yearly state bubble contenders. Time will tell which of these two bands will be stronger under their new head directors. Right now, East is easily the stronger band, but we will see.

Yeah that’s what would suck, youre gonna have the same 4 bands taking those spots anyway. It may as well be the old area c with the big 3 in it. This change would only benefit the Wylies. You still end up with 20 something bands fighting for one spot.

Waxahachie would inevitably change to 5A after the new school opens fall of 27. So that would open up a spot but who knows what kind of wacky change would happen then.

Wylie isn't in 25.... but right now, thats the only region I see being added.

4-6 would easily be a wild card, just depends on what show themes kind of show out next year.

Seems right to me, I didn't think Heath would be 40th but all things considered I'm not shocked

I do think them going after 3 bands that make finals pretty consistently hurt their placements, but I don't think they would've done much better even if they had a better draw. Forney finally placing above Waxahachie I think is huge for them. Maybe we'll have a new area C champion next year

What would have been a better draw? Every band I saw (including Heath) was simply amazing. Other than going in between say Flomo and Hebron, that would not be fun! Haha. But point is out of 41 fantastic bands Area C bands finished about where I would have expected but hoped each might be a few higher.
