I know they're attempting to source replacement instruments from the other bands that are there.  And the Leander ISD 5A bands have also offered to bring them anything we have, if they still need something.

I can't imagine having to pull together all those instruments and test them out by 9:15.  Sure hope they can make it work.  I really do like their show this year and have it in my current top 3.

 

Gutted for these members and anyone involved… I am glad everyone is okay first and foremost, but dang this must be a stressful logistical nightmare to try to pull together everything before performing but hope everything works out.

Just read on another board that not all was lost, Leander is sending their rig and other attending bands are loaning instruments. This is what it’s all about. Everyone coming together to help.

I am just so relieved everyone is coming in together and supporting vandy just truly shows how much everyone loves and adores their band program 🙏

Better than that -- I think the band community in Texas is so great that they would rally around any band that had this happen to them, not just Vandy. Love it.

Feel like some of the spacing is unfortunate, I accidentally read it as "one was injured in the incident" but that might be my fault lol

It's why all 3 of  my kids will be in marching band - the rivalries are real, but none of them want to see this happen to a competitor and will go offer assistance to an archrival in time of need.  It's about being human first, and competitor second, and today I feel we could all learn from that.

I love dripping springs show with all their playful little small ensembles especially that snare and keyboard solo in the middle of the field once again, finals is looking really for this season with many more good bands to come after this break

There is a video floating around that I saw and saved for those who want to see it (I attached it below). The crash looks bad, but the train hit the trailer on the joint. Hopefully, most there equipment is ok or needs minor repairs. Thankfully, it appears it got stuck, and the drivers/passengers had plenty of time to get to safety. I am glad to see other bands helping them in their hour of need. It really goes to show that the band is truly a one-of-a-kind activity.

Very enjoyable and impactful show brought to us by clear brook to start off the last block of state prelims!!! I absoldtulty love their uniforms with those shades as well those killer saxophones!!! Amazing job clear brook!!!

Tomball Memorial was really having an energetic show with brass going crazy in the beginning and those soloists going crazy especially that sax duet and those PLASTIC TROMBONES HOLY those go so hard

Just beyond wow for Coppell, that flute soloist sounds so beautiful and ties the whole show together as well as all those woodwind techniques just an amazing run through coppell

Coppell had one of my favorite ballads of the day. Clarinet player had some really nice tone, and an overall beautiful moment.

Love Cy-Fair's props when they flicker on and off and just overall stellar music performance by both brass and woodwinds and always love to hear an amazing group of soloists 🙌

EXTREME POWER AND PERFORMANCE BY DAWSON, was not expecting that all just the shear edge in the brass as well as the woodwinds technique is just mind blowing to say the least. now onto vandy to close of the night of prelims!!!
