Based off what I’ve seen I’d say Poteet has the strongest chance, really like that show a lot and it’s a really great design

what about like north mesquite or highland park (HP has finally made somewhat of a comeback) or maybe even mp (ive only seen them once in person somewhat challenging material), and i honesty agree though poteet has the material

I think those bands will probably place around the same as last year, maybe HP slips in or is close, but that’s probably it. I hate saying this bc those area C bands are amazing, but they aren’t just at the level of bands from the top of areas like B, H, and some of F, D & E. Are they bad, not at all and honestly C brings some of the more entertaining shows but they just aren’t as clean but state as some others

i completely agree with you as well, I think Poteet actually was the closest to making it to state finals out of both schools but I don’t think we should sleep on north or Lakeview as I think Lakeview is actually getting better than what they were before, north is also getting really good compared to how they were a couple years back, I see growth

Yeah, I could see all 3 to the top soon. Making finals though, I think still a few years assuming no fall off. Again they are all amazing programs, but with how good the top 15 is getting here, they would need to have an insane season, but I do see them growing in the ranks in the coming years

dont discount mount pleasant, they have had explosive growth over the past few years and are even better this year, and right now i see them as contenders for area c champions especially after their latest run at region
the top area c bands are all really good but i think it will be a few years before any of them has a realistic chance at state finals

Yeah… I Definitely should’ve added them to the list, I saw their run at region and I was really entertained by their show, really cool props, very eye catching opener, music is catchy, I like it!

What do we think about Midlo? 
 

They have had a really strong season, building on last year with a state appearance after a while of not advancing. They won BOA Midland and improved their score at Waco barely under Aledo, with only a 0.95 difference. 

Their show this year is really fun and definitely better than last year. Music is definitely better; they got the music caption in prelims at Waco, over Aledo. And overall have a really strong show 

I think they are state bound again and have a chance at finals. Last year they had some difficulties and errors due to it being their first ever indoor performance. They were barely under Aledo at area, so they have a chance at finals I think.

 

What does everyone think?

I agree that your top 9 will almost certainly all be in finals.  Your choices for 10-12 make sense too.  I'd love to see Roma back, but I don't think they are as strong this year.

I do however think that Wakeland can beat Rouse and that Aledo will place higher.  I'd have them in 6th, behind Leander, but above Burleson Centennial.

I'm looking forward to seeing Lake Belton's show at the LB-CP football game this Friday.  I was really surprised and impressed with them last year, they were absolutely my favorite 5A show that didn't make State Finals, and they just barely missed at that.

I've been watching the few videos of the top bands in 5A.  the real battle is going to be for 2-5 it's going to be crazy...... I just  don't  see anyone  knocking off CP.......  tomorrow I'll be at the Wakeland and Lone Star high school football game..... this rivalry is crazy.... both bands are hungry for the top spot in their area....

What are you thinking on Lake Belton compared to last year. Do you think they will come back for revenge after their 13th place at state last year. Do you think they will make state finals 5A for the first time in school history?

I really liked the show, but I was on the field so it's tough to judge what the overall design looked like.  The music was good, it was played well, the drill was tight and clean from the field.  I continue to be impressed and I wish them well.  I hope I get a chance to see them at BOA-SA and/or State.
