Aubrey Marching Classic

It seems like many decent bands are going to this competition. Many notable ones 4a since a couple belong to the same area. Any thoughts about the bands going? Who's favored to win and what's expected from what has been seen so far in the season?

i dont really watch any 4a bands so from my perspective it’s maybe like terrell and WM?

So we are out here today. I have nothing against Aubrey, the stadium or the folks running it, but this place should not host an event this big.  30 bands, stadium holds 3000...figure 100 folks per band, thats 3000 alone, then add fans...it's just too small. No place for the bands to sit to watch other bands, zero shade. Again, nothing against the folks or the stadium itself, it's a nice small town stadium, just isn't cut out for this event unfortunately

Agree. Parking is a nightmare as well.

I will try to. Not there now but we (Lake Dallas) perform at 9.  So will be making it back there.

Unfortunately I wasn’t there for the prelim results. All I know is Lake Dallas got 5th place overall

That is correct. Springtown 8th. Not sure of the others.  Was surprised to not see Terrell up there. Good event today

Anyone have the final numbers? Aubrey hasn't posted them unfortunately

Kennedale got first place in 4A prelims, and from what I'm hearing first overall as well. Don't quote me on it, but I think the finals schedule may have been in placement order.

Yep, finals performance order was placement order from prelims. A lot of switching places switching around. Only 2nd and 12th place stayed the same from prelims to finals.

I'm not 100% familiar with the scoring system, is there a reason the ordinal total in the spreadsheet isn't the same as adding up all placements in finals?

Been a change to the finals...seems like the judges made a mistake and Springtown actually finished 6th...not sure if they swapped with Brock or what

They didn't count one of the music judges scores for finals, 1-3 and 10-12 were unaffected, but no one from 4-9 stayed in the same place
