I love a great mellophone line, but when they aren't great it makes me cringe.

Dang, that last block is a beast. I kind of feel sorry for Fossil Ridge, but from what I've heard about their show hopefully they can surprise some people.

They are actually doing really well. When we did "try-outs" they were 3rd overall. lol

Our band directors never said anything about it and when we marched last night we didn't have synth, so I was just assuming.

Yeah we (Martin) are doing it during "Hunting Wabbits." At first I wasn't sure how it would fit, but every crowd we get in front of gets a kick out of it. And I guess it kind of goes with the music.

Are you allowed to use synthesizers at UIL contests? Because I don't think you can, and we had ours this past Tuesday and I'm wondering how Richland's opener sounded with out the synth.

This year we marched 12 out of the total 12 people in our section. And the only way we got a 12th was from a person who converted from the clarinet.

Am I the only one getting it for the Wii? lol

Hey mellophones, what are some traditions that you guys do at your school? And post any cool ideas that you have/had for section shirt designs. I'm trying to decide ours.

I agree with mbui. I can't stand it when people use electronics to say random things that don't really flow with the rest of the show. But when it flows it's crazy awesome.

I saw Duncanville's show Friday night and some of it is just amazing. The clarinet and trumpets.. amazing.

So why did they not have them that one time you marched there?

We won again! lol 7-0 and 4-0 in district, we already secured play-offs.. I'm pumped!

Just find a person from Marcus on here and ask them. I'm sure they have been informed about it by their directors.

Dang that sucks, hopefully they get the location worked out to something decent. I don't want all the bands to injure like half their people lol.
