  1. Four. But if you read George Orwell's 1984, you are holding up five, lol. (In-class reading for AP English) Why do I not have more money?
  2. We got cookies. Some non melted popicles/ice cream would be nice.
  3. Going to have to agree with the no scores idea, as there isn't a central place to get the scores from, unlike DCI. But it should stay for DCI.
  4. I saw the story about MTV wanting to make a Schlitterbahn Waterpark reality tv show, http://www.herald-zeitung.com/story.lasso?...86fd0843d8bc02d , but nothing about a band reality show. Would someone be kind enough to provide me a link to the story?
  5. Farmers tan!? Nope, you have a Band Tan. Just imagine, the heat could be much worse, or your air could be polluted, lol.
  6. Standard practice? Not too many schools do it where I am (none that I can think of, which is a lot), co-ed busses for here.
  7. Also, you could try some sort of way of marking their spot with chalk, etc.
  8. The theater is too far away and there is a band family social that night! Is anyone going to be able to post the scores live (or as soon as they come in) here? I might be able to get to a computer and log on here to check the scores.
  9. Undoubtly, especially if you are experiencing practiceits - maximus. Why can't we use fuels that get more miles per gallon?
  10. It will be TxBands.com... in Dynasty's or Clarinot's house! But in all seriousness, I am rooting for PR as I know a couple of people who are marching with them.
  11. Either Dynasty's or Clarinot's house. Just don't tell them we are coming... lol
  12. Someone should begin ordering the food, even if Phantom doesn't win... I'm hungry.
  13. "Hey What!" We introduce people (drum majors, band officials, etc.) from the other band, at home games. For introducing freshmen, we ask the standard questions, then throw in some random question.
  14. Nope, ran for Band Council though. Why do instrument repair shops charge so much?
  15. I somewhat agree with this statement. In a big city, there is a chance to get larger donations and maybe better funding from the district. But I do know that in my school's district, the budget isn't near enough to fund the entire marching season (and still be able to compete in BOA & UIL, and fund all the usual marching season stuff) and the district is just south of Houston. Near NASA and near oil refineries & major oil company offices.
  16. Time travel wormholes, eh? About how many years backward does it go?, might reuse veteran marchers (the good ones) over and over...
  17. Currently is getting a new gym, but we had 2,800 students last year in grades 9 - 12.
  18. The description says it all. How does your band move equipment and music instruments from your school to a contest or game? Does your band own a trailer, rents, etc.? Also, do students or parent volunteers handle the instruments/equipment? For my band, we have a 57' semi trailer and our own truck to pull it. The pit equipment is moved by parents, with the instruments, equipment, and props loaded and offloaded by a student crew.
  19. Just wondering, but has anyone's band have begun marching practice or music practice (including practice for parades, etc.)? My band began parade practice wednesday for a parade tomorrow, however, we had a music camp in early June. Has anyone else began gearing for the season?
