I don't know how they beat Reagan's music score. If I remember correctly I heared a lot of edge in the brass playing and it made me put on a sadface *sadface* -

Bowie did well, your show was incredibly clean. I don't care what anyone say, I believe you got what you deserved. There is nothing more effective to me than a show that has nearly flawlessly clean music and drill. -

I loved the ending of Reagan's show because it was one of the few times I could actually recognize a piece (listen to the very ending of Symphonic Metamorphasis mvt. 2). I was thinking to myself when Westfield was warming up... man that sounds an awful lot like last year... glad I'm not the only one who thought that. -

Went to San Antonio and I guess we had a poor run. From my area it was great but whatever. The world is still spinning on it's axis. -

You sure do agree with me don't you? Like every post related to mine... I agree with Nick on this. I think Nick is right about that. I agree Nick, ___. -

If you're from Churchill High School and reading this I just want to tell you, you have THE MOST INCREDIBLE COLOR GUARD I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE FROM A HIGH SCHOOL. Congradulations on creating such an amazing guard program, you should be proud. (This is not bashing other guards, I just think Churchill is on a different level than all other guards I have seen, probably in the country) *My bad on the spelling

Hardest show

This year. 106ish sets, over 10 minutes. No time for an on-field warm-up. Whole opener at 174... blow section in 2nd movement at 184 and the end at 184... redicuolus difficult and I wasn't even putting air in my horn (bassoon player) -

Ouch Martin > Bell 10-11 That's no good. Bell probably got poorly judged because of the random 3 and 5 and three 1s. -

Dancing is completely acceptable in any marching band situation. But 1 minute dance breaks with your horns on the ground are only acceptable is certain situations (Cavies '02). I don't think our show was bad at all, in fact I think the middle and ending movements were fantastic from where I was. The opener was shaky but that was because of the 1 set tear at the beginning because of the sound system. Anyway, more reviewish things. Westfield's show was pretty cool... the music was generally clean as well as the drill, but the thing was it was not very engaging or... stimulating I guess. It was just kind of there and I think that hurt them in the GE department. The end was cool where they all ran around and jumped on the ground. Westlake... meh... dirty music but it was very difficult and known pieces. That is why I like Westlake, they play difficult music well. Their marching was alright and I didn't really understand their show concept. I would like to express again how clean I thought Bowie's show was. Just amazing. I'm not going to write any more because honestly, I wasn't paying enough attention to anyone else. GJ to all performing bands, I look forward to attending as a spectator next years. Churchill's colorgaurd was absolutely incredible, as usual. Watching all the shows I would have to say these few words: WTF MARCUS?!? It was good, but I personally feel the need to express that other bands were much cleaner and sounded much fuller and less EHEHHHHHHH (dark-side sound) than them. It was loud and I think that is what won them music. Personally I think Bowie had an absolutely fantastic show. It was clean and the oboe solo needs to be given TONS of credit. It is a very very difficult excerpt. Congrats to Bowie. I think Reagan how should I say... chopped up the music too much. If I hadnt played Symphonic Metamorphasis AND Profanation, I would have no idea what was going on in their show. I loved the last note in the corner around to dome too. Fantastic idea. Churchill gaurd > *. Tossing like 90s out of no where. SFA had a great show but I personally think that Churchill was > them tonight.. but those 2 bands > marcus. I think marcus was placed higher than deserved.. my opinion. Richland's show was great. It really had my attention the whole time. Great show idea... anyway congrats to all the bands. Thanks for the performances. (all these are my opinions and not those of my organizations) -

All bands will do well. Who cares who wins? We are all winners in life (if you make finals) and remember to purchase a DVD. Good luck to the competing bands, see you on the field. -
Our football team is bad this year. Last year we were good.. Band is good
