If BOA SA attendance continues at this pace, they may want to consider inserting a Semi-Finals category. I know this could be a logistics challenge for the bands, but there are just too many good ones who deserve a second look!

I've walked through shiny, sparkling brand new schools in slum areas paid for by Title I money taken from larger more successful districts. The school has a budget to match many wealthier schools in the area, the teachers have higher salaries than practically anywhere else but their test scores are still low. Money was never the issue. It's the same ole "Entitlement Logic". Better yet....have every band in TX pool their funds into one central location and have it 'distributed' by the Austin Legislatures! If they really want to improve their programs....then go make it happen with fundraisers and community support and rather than excuses.

I attended the HEB contest and wanted to say....what a difference from Arlington BOA! By the end, I had to remind myself to breath. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you all at BOA-SA. I found your show so much more engaging and exciting this time. And with all due respect to Marcus.....I found Bell's show so much more engaging and exciting. You always hear from the professionals about Marcus' music capabilities....which I completely respect. However, I found their marching show relatively simple and predictable. There needs to be something said for the passion and emotion that sparks a show....and Bell has it, in humble my opinion.

Keller will be at Duncanville but not BOA-SA

.....and how about Keller Central in 11th, barely missing out! All the best to them the rest of the season. The Keller band really appreciated their support during Finals performance!

Whatever......I moved from Marietta, GA to Keller, TX.....and your reference is only to Cobb Co. The state of Georgia doesn't come close to the calibur of TX marching bands. Next subject......please!

GO MICHIGAN STATE SPARTAN BAND!! ONE OF THE BEST UNIVERSITY BANDS IN THE COUNTRY......BY FAR! Grand Nationals is in for a real treat!

Agreed, but my point was focused on glaring disparities that significantly impacted the overall rankings.....independent of qualifying for finals.

On a more positive note.....my humble opinion of 5A bands on the rise in the DFW area: -Mansfield -Plano East -Keller I'm sure there are more.....no comments on decline!
