Is it just me, or do these contests seem to become more and more monotonous every year lol. It's always so cool to see the new shows, or new uniforms, etc., but it seems for a while now, things pretty much are predictable. It'd be cool if from year to year the placements and things were completely different than the year before. Of course I understand that won't happen, seeing as that would require every band to be on the same level, but it'd be cool .

i don't think it should matter so much what the judges say, because we all know that its such a delicate process that we can't actually understand what is going through their heads at the time... they must have some reason for what they do and hence must be respected even if we don't agree with it... so, i think it should matter how you think you did, and if you did aamazing, well, then yes, you may be upset by what the judges thought, but does it really matter in the end??? congrats to all the bands that performed. it was a great accomplishment already getting there and extra congrats to the finalist bands!!! can't wait for two years from now!!!

in my opinion, the locks are Hebron, L.D. Bell, and Marcus, and the last two spots are up for grabs by about 6-8 other bands... man this is a bloodbath... but anything can happen, so good luck to everyone tomorrow!!!

really...? i don't think marcus even stands close to bell, just my personal opinion. i was in coplete shock at what happened at 5a state two years ago... i dunno, just really disappointed, and a little with marcus' show this year too, though i still gotta give them major props on their music (they freking play like a concert band on the field!), but other than that... meh and on another note... i LOVE argyle so much!! they really impressed me at the last contest i saw them at (i think birdville) \my jaw actually dropped in thier show can't wait to see the Area B contest this weekend too! im gonna set myself up in a seat and avoid moving all day!!! i cant wait to see bell and hebron!!! good luck to all the participating bands!!!

gotta say... i kinda agree with Andi too... but i won't go into it, just that i see it a lot in smaller, yet kinda wierdly reoccuring chunks...

Argyle at Birdville this past weekend blew me away.... i hadn't seen them in a long time and was so glad i didn't miss their show this year. i loved it !!! i know they are kinda already big... ish... but still

this is turning into a "i MUST go all day" contest. a lot of good bands are going to this contest, so i can't just go to part... I'm so excited!!!

I know, I couldn't believe some of the stuff they were doing out there! I was so impressed by all the intricate drill they were doing. I hope they have a great year.

lol. when i first saw those i was really excited. then they started opening and closing and the pupils started moving around and i got all creeped out! i guess, personally, i think their show this year in more in your face than any of the other years by far, just in a diiferent way. i think the kind of show they are doing this year is rather refreshing, especially the music. it's like a more refined version of what they usually do, but still the same hebron.

I really hope so. My parents are being very difficult at the moment... but I'll try to escape and go anyways! Oh, and why weren't you impressed with Hebron? I thought they did amazing this weekend. (sorry, seems from my recent series of posts that i'm a bit of a hebron fanatic...)

I agree with you there, this contest is going to be very entertaining to watch, especially after seeing all the amazing performances at BOA Arlingtonthis past weekend. Gotta say, I was really impressed with a lot of bands there, namely Mansfield, Hebron, Legacy, and Cedar Park. Congrats to all the bands that performed all day. Y'all make me miss being in band so much. I swear, I tear up every time I see a band perform...

I agree about the 4A bands. Good for them!! Though BOA Housten is going to be amazingly stacked. Also I agree as well with you above, Hebron was by far my favorite band there, though I can't really say because I didn' get to see Cedar Park. After their start, I thought it was an amazing performance.

Yeah, I think Berkner, Cedar Park, and Coppell have good shots as well. But so does Hebron. I think it's really wierd how eveyone keeps leaving them out of this...

Oh no, that's not what i meant. Kinda sounded like it though when I just reread it... oops! What I meant was that I'm ready to see a different band on top, or maybe something completely out there like that. It really takes the excitement out of a contest day when everyone already says that a certain band is going to win and stuff like that. I really want people to realize that there are definately a number of bands this year who can compete for the top spot, not just one. Also, I think this contest will be a lot closer than people are thinking. Of course, knowing my luck, I may end up being completely wrong too. I don't know, we shall see in a couple days. But still, I really hope that Saturday is a good day for everyone. And extra luck to all the bands that perform early!!!
