  1. Honestly, at this point Dallas at least 5 and 6A will probably need a revamping of their areas and regions especially considering the heavy growth in Denton and Collin counties
  2. A lot of schools typically tend to post their contests around this time in may and june on their calendars. Usually you can find these calendars on their band's website if they have one. Usually what I do is I go through the bands by area to check so I dont lose track, but I'm sure there's other ways to do it as well. All of the bands you see that I have listed have their contests posted on their calendar.
  3. I think that new Northwest School is opening probably 2027 or 2028 from what I know. I believe both Denton is opening a school in Cross Roads and Royse City is opening on in Fate around that time. Asides from that I know that Prosper's Richland HS is opening this year. I believe they also have a 5th school planned but it probably won't affect realignment until 2030 I'm assuming.
  4. Possibly, I think Walnut Grove would mainly depend on how much growth they receive but they can definitely be in 6A talk And 6A area C, I'm not sure what could be changed about that for now, maybe 24 or 25 to C could help out on that? 24 isn't heavy on 6a as it is 5A so it could probably slightly balance J a bit and ensure that there's enough people in C
  5. Here is a good thing about every school in this area coming in to this season (alphabetical) Allen: I thought that Fire and Ice was a step in the right direction for their program and what potential the band could have. Braswell: They underdogged their way to the top 5 and had an incredibly great show, and that 380 area is experiencing tremendous growth. Byron Nelson: I really liked their show last year and I'm excited to see what they have ready for this upcoming year Flower Mound: I love what they are doing with the theming, and I also believe that they can benefit a lot from the new judging system for Area. Guyer: I think that Guyer is great with concepts, as long as they can have a show they can execute they could do a lot this year. Hebron: State champions in 6A and still one of the most talked about bands online. Lewisville: They get a little unappreciated due to their siblings being a little better than them, but I think that they have a ton of potential in their program. Little Elm: Their guard won WGI Scholastic Open with a record score for that class and the percussion got invited to Midwest, which could bring a lot of motivation for the band program for this year and future years. Marcus: I enjoy getting to watch their shows year from year, and it is always satisfying to see how Marcus performs. McKinney: They might be THE school to look out for this year. McKinney Boyd: With the right show I think that they will do a lot for their program, I think that they could definitely reach high with it. Northwest: With the right show they could place higher than you could expect, and I think that they could be a sleeper school once they start building up these next few years. Plano: They were pretty close to making finals this year, which may mean that there could be a lot of motivation to push them to that direction. Plano East: For sneaking into the finals, it was a little surprising but not unexpected with a show that was great to watch as a spectator. Plano West: I saw that the jazz went to the Essentially Ellington contest, which is pretty cool and I think that could mean that they are building to be a good program or year for them in other aspects and not just in jazz. Princeton: They had a solid show for their first year in 6A, and they are one of the fastest growing towns in America which could help with size Prosper: They are coming off from a Grand Nationals appearance, and I think that they could be a contender state once again with a good show. Rock Hill: Rock Hill is more of a concept school but that is the cool thing about them is that they are great with coming up with theming which could be good for GE. V.R Eaton: They are also someone you should look out for, they will probably have a really good show, as long as the execution can happen a lot can happen for this year for Eaton. Wylie: I saw that they had staff changes, which I think will be good for them. I think that they could be someone to sneak higher than they were and if not I know they will still have a great show. Wylie East: They have the staff changes they need I think. The Sachse director was a good grab and I think it could mean a lot for their program Area J is an area where you can see great things happening in every school regardless of if they were 1st, 14th or 20th which is the good thing about J is because it might seem competitive the whole time but there is growth happening in every school that might not be seen the whole time because of something as simple as a placement. I'm excited to see how all of these bands do this year and I hope I get the chance to see a lot of these shows this year.
  6. Maybe Royse City could do well, that whole area is growing pretty quickly in the Fate and RC area. Could take that as an advantage to sneak into finals. If not, maybe Mesquite or Tyler Legacy, kind of hard to tell at the moment.
  7. I think that if the Frisco scenario happens with Reedy jumping up and Memorial moving down, I wouldn't be shocked if they wanted to add nearby school in 3 4 or 5A to slightly balance Region 24 depending on what the new Prosper Richland ends up being (probably 4 or 5A), maybe from 25 or 2 if they get more in 6A or 5A with jumps. Maybe Aubrey or Celina or Pilot Point? Just sort of some food for thought but who knows what'll happen
  8. I think that if Berkner were to drop, they could be a pretty solid contender for the SMBC in 5A with the right execution. It could be interesting to watch that. And Memorial could also be a state level program in the 4A level of SMBC with the results they have rn at 5A B. Reedy jumping up could be interesting too, it'll make you wonder how they'll do in J (BOA prosper this year could be a sneak peek of that with a lot of J going to that contest). Also if reedy and Sherman make state happens, it could be interesting to see how it shakes up athletic districts; itll probably be a whole shuffle and it makes me wonder if itll affect also the UIL Areas and Regions for 6A
  9. Here are some quick predictions of mine for now, I will change them either once I get more in depth or when we get next year's enrollment numbers. Drops 6A to 5A: Longview, Dallas Jesuit, Rowlett, Berkner, Rock Hill, Westview, Lancaster 5A to 4A: Frisco Memorial, Denison, Dallas Adamson, Kaufman, CC King, CC Moody, H Austin, H Sterling Jumps 4A to 5A: Sulphur Springs, Celina, Panther Creek, Community, Lake Dallas, Decatur, Davenport, West Plains 5A to 6A: McKinney North, Leander, Aledo, Sherman, Reedy, Lake Belton, Denton Ryan I probably won't do 3A down until a later time since I'm not as familiar with it as 4A-6A. I think we'll have 7A in 2030 or 2028 but not 2026 for now.
  10. Realignment is coming up in a couple months, what do you guys think will be the big changes for jumps/drops and also any region/area alignments?
  11. I think Bridge City will still be in the state discussion as well, i honestly just forgot about them for a minute in my last post lol, but i'd still consider them to be in state level as well.
  12. I think Celina, Sulphur Springs, North Lamar, and Farmersville are probably the obvious choices in my opinion, I think between the 4 Farmersville I see a lot of growth in that program that could happen. From there, I think Lumberton will make state as well. Another good choice that I think could place pretty high in the Area level more than likely the top 3 After that, the 7th and maybe the 8th in my opinion I think could be a couple bubble people. Possibly like I mentioned before with the right execution and a good show, Community and Van Alstyne could be some guys to look out for, but I think Pleasant Grove, Paris, and Canton will also be in that discussion, and I think they could also perform to that state level. I definitely have to go to a game or contest or find some way to watch these guys because I think this will be a good area contest as a lot of finalists here could definitely have their shot at state in this area. I'm excited to see how it turns out
  13. Van Alstyne and Community are both 1 good show away from being in State discussion, keep an eye out on those two guys, it could be a good season for this area
  14. Per the calendar of V.R Eaton H, they may only be performing in prelims for this contest. Not entirely sure if it is final. From their calendar it says: "Our plan is to march Prelims only so that students who choose may still participate in Homecoming." Might or might not change some of yalls predictions, just wanted to make you guys aware
  15. This drumline contest will be held at the HEBISD Pennington Field in Bedford, TX Confirmed (calendar): Arlington HS Azle HS Fossil Ridge HS James Martin HS Keller HS Keller Central HS LD Bell HS Lebanon Trail HS Little Elm HS Lovejoy HS McKinney HS Midlothian HS North Crowley HS Plano West HS Poteet HS Richland HS (North Richland Hills) Rockwall Heath HS Springtown HS Timber Creek HS Timberview HS Tyler Legacy HS Wakeland HS Weatherford HS
  16. You're right about North probably, this is just based on mainly my views on the shows as a whole, not on BOA which I probably should've done lol. I think with that in mind North will probably be lower, maybe around where Walnut grove and Burleson Cen10 area at this moment. I think with that in mind I can probably consider those bubble guys mentioned. I think that especially in North Dallas there will be an underdog in general. With the right execution, I think WG Reedy or LE can benefit a bit from the BOA scoring and sneak into finals, but at the moment who knows what'll happen. I think once we get a full week and we get through the first and second contest weeks (probably after McKinney finals) ill get back to this prediction.
  17. With the 2025 band season starting to approach, who do you think will be a dark horse of this year? Almost like how Braswell was where they just kinda underdogged their way up to 5th in J last year, who do you guys think that will be for this upcoming season?
  18. Very early predictions 1 Wakeland 2 Coppell 3 Prosper 4 Braswell 5 McKinney North 6 SLC 7 Burleson Centennial 8 McKinney 9 Wylie 10-12 One of these bubble people below Bubble people: Keller Central Forney Walnut Grove Rockwall Reedy Little Elm I think Liberty wins AA and Whitesboro wins A and they'll do their exhibitions at finals. These results will obviously change once we get a full list and I'll make another one once we get that full list because who knows what will happen with adds or drops For the guys that havent done BOA recently (at least to my knowledge, feel free to let me know of anything wrong), heres what I think their classes will be using 3/4 of their 2024 UIL enrollments from last Feb: Greenville 1219.5, will likely be on the fence of AA and AAA leaning towards AA Little Elm 1897.5, might be on the fence of AAA and AAAA but very leaned towards AAAA Melissa 1321.875, most likely AAA Rick Reedy 1643.25, most likely AAA
  19. Predictions for now: Wakeland Lone Star Argyle North Lebanon Reedy Walnut Emerson Liberty See below Finalist bubble: Heritage Liberty The Colony Independence Melissa This contest will be pretty interesting as always, I'm excited to see if Emerson and Melissa's world guards will help with their performance. I hope so because those guys have a lot of potential. In the short term I don't think North will be affected just yet by the staff change, but give it a couple years. Makes me wonder if you'll see any new guys go to state (Reedy or Walnut Grove????) in these next few years. Gotta represent the 380 growth spurt well at state lol. But either way I'm excited to see how this turns out, and theres a lot of ways this contest can go this year. I think Emerson will make finals. but there will be a lot of people fighting to be the last ones into finals this year at prelims I think
  20. Cant wait to see TC and Mansfield battle it out once again. Also you put down highland park twice
  21. Could be a good one. Here are some quick predictions for now I'll probably fix them up later 1. Hebron 2. Prosper 3. Wakeland 4. Coppell 5. SLC 6. Timber 7. Keller 8. Sachse 9. Wax 10. Trinity/Berkner Once we get some more people confirmed I'll probably make an updated one
  22. Here's my early predictions for this show this year. I'll make another one later in the season but this is what I have for right now 1. Mansfield (brass) (vis) (music) 2. Little Elm (percussion) (aux) 3. The Colony (ww) 4. North Mesquite 5. James Martin 6. Birdville 7. Lakeview 8. Frisco Centennial 9. Highland Park 10. Fossil Ridge I have them in bubbles where they could all be interchanged with one another. I think that the top 4 will be a big battle especially with some underdogs in the top 5 last year (LE,NM) so I think it could be a fun contest to show up to for those interested in going to a contest that weekend. Excited to see how this contest ends up. I'm especially interested to see how North Mesquite does in this contest, I loved their show last year
  23. Newman Smith HS is confirmed to be attending via calendar
  24. Prosper Richland HS: "Home Sweet Home"
  25. This contest will be held on 9/13/25 in Nevada, TX
