2025 BOA Bedford (Oct. 4)
dfwhorn replied to LeanderMomma's topic in Non-UIL: Upcoming Contests, Events, and Festivals
Could be a good one. Here are some quick predictions for now I'll probably fix them up later 1. Hebron 2. Prosper 3. Wakeland 4. Coppell 5. SLC 6. Timber 7. Keller 8. Sachse 9. Wax 10. Trinity/Berkner Once we get some more people confirmed I'll probably make an updated one -
Here's my early predictions for this show this year. I'll make another one later in the season but this is what I have for right now 1. Mansfield (brass) (vis) (music) 2. Little Elm (percussion) (aux) 3. The Colony (ww) 4. North Mesquite 5. James Martin 6. Birdville 7. Lakeview 8. Frisco Centennial 9. Highland Park 10. Fossil Ridge I have them in bubbles where they could all be interchanged with one another. I think that the top 4 will be a big battle especially with some underdogs in the top 5 last year (LE,NM) so I think it could be a fun contest to show up to for those interested in going to a contest that weekend. Excited to see how this contest ends up. I'm especially interested to see how North Mesquite does in this contest, I loved their show last year

USBands Saginaw Regional (9/27)
dfwhorn replied to BandNerd07's topic in Non-UIL: Upcoming Contests, Events, and Festivals
Some early predictions Cen10 Richland Boswell Richardson Fossil Ridge Eaton Frisco/Chisholm Frisco/Chisholm NC Saginaw Garland Ryan Paschal Denton I'm not as familiar with usbands stuff but I feel like this could be an interesting contest. Be on the lookout for Denton or North Crowley, Denton has a staff change and NC could definitely be a dark horse of this contest. I think the spot between Frisco and Chisholm will depend on who executes it better, I know that Frisco is having some gothic theme which could be sick -
Here is how bands confirmed in the contest competed against each other in contests with more than one from this contest in it. (with exceptions being UIL and Melissa itself) I made this when I was making my predictions for this contest once again today (which i'll probably post later) but feel free to interpret this however needed for predictions as I felt this could be important for other's predictions for this contest. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1jnGILFEu-lfA5QIOcXjcBS8tcHr_SWlPQvEv10QE-Pk/edit?usp=sharing

Here is PISD's feeder pattern. From the looks of it, mainly Rushing but also Mosely, which is the new one that's opening this year. Rushing could definitely be a good asset for Richland as a feeder though, and especially as a 4A this first year they could definitely be successful. I'm sure they'll probably be 5 or 6A once we get to realignment 2026 though.

Prosper’s 4th High School, Richand looks like it will be beginning in 4A for most activities except likely football per the realignment page on uiltexas.org/alignments which means that they will likely be here in 4A area B if they advance to Area. Not sure if this changes anyone’s picks or not, but it doesn’t really seem like anyone’s mentioning it

I'm sure that we're gonna have WAY more people than listed, but here's what I think an early top 12 could be for this contest with possible "ranges". 4A looks insane for this show and has all the big guys asides from panther creek because of them sticking to the Plano East contest. I want to wait for more people to sign up before I lock in my prediction however. 1. Lone Star/Argyle/Rock Hill 2. Lone Star/Argyle/Rock Hill 3. Lone Star/Argyle/Rock Hill 4. McKinney/Little Elm/Walnut Grove/Lakeview 5. McKinney/Little Elm/Walnut Grove/Lakeview 6. McKinney/Little Elm/Walnut Grove/Lakeview/Celina 7. McKinney/Little Elm/Walnut Grove/Lakeview/Celina 8. Celina/Liberty/Memorial 9. Celina/Liberty/Memorial 10. Liberty/Memorial 11. North Forney/Rowlett 12 North Forney/Rowlett/Canton/CS

Here are my early predictions. 1. Coppell 2. Timber Creek 3. Southlake Carroll 4. Keller 5. LD Bell 6. Central 7. Lake Ridge 8. Haltom 9. Martin 10. Trinity Anything could change through like 4 down so who knows, but I'm excited to see a lot of good shows in the area this year.

Incredibly early predictions, sort of like a previous post where it's mainly just the "range" of a school rather than an actual prediction. 1. Flomo/Hebron/Marcus 2. Flomo/Hebron/Marcus 3. Flomo/Hebron/Marcus 4. Braswell/Prosper 5. Braswell/Prosper/McKinney 6. Wylie East/McKinney/Braswell 7. Wylie/Wylie East/McKinney 8. Plano East/Rock Hill/Little Elm/McKinney Boyd 9. Plano East/Rock Hill/Little Elm/McKinney Boyd 10. Plano East/Rock Hill/Little Elm/McKinney Boyd I think it will mostly look the same, BUT I think rock hill will probably make finals this year, and Braswell could possibly sneak into state depending on their performance, and I have Little Elm as my dark horse with them and their world champion guard. Either way this area could go any way for many of these spots and I'm excited to see how it goes.

2025 BOA Prosper (Oct. 11)
dfwhorn replied to LeanderMomma's topic in Non-UIL: Upcoming Contests, Events, and Festivals
Gonna be a crazy contest and we don't even have the full list. Excited how some of these programs will do in the BOA stage. -
This area's gonna be fun this year, I think that a lot of these director changes will help spice it up. I think Sachse will still place high in area and state. They had a really great show last year and I think they could continue that momentum as GISD is slowly getting on the map with them and LCHS; I dont see them falling down many spots at Area.

Here my early thoughts on a lot of these J programs for this year; i think itll be another great year as this area impressed me a lot last year LISD big 3 most likely will go to state all again, with my personal order being Flomo Hebron Marcus in that order, all 3 could be in contention for each spot of those positions however; well have to see how their shows for this following year treats them. But my opinion for this specific order is that Flower Mound is way more of a heavy theming school and with all these other schools starting to develop (Bwell, WISD, MISD PESH, etc) I think that theming could possibly start being more necessary Prosper HS is probably gonna have another killer year with the Grand Nats appearance and 16th at the SMBC; however I want to wait and see how the new Richland school they are opening in the west of the district will affect their program before I make any big opinions on their program, but they will most likely be a contender for state once again. Braswell is a bit tricky on me to decide on right now just because of the sudden jump, but I think that they will most likely have another good season, and even possibly a visit to State if they can find a way to take advantage of Prosper high's situation with richland. Also keep in mind DISD is opening a new HS in the Crossroads area in 2027, but that wont be an issue for Bwell for these next few years. Wylie ISD will probably both be finals calibur once more, but keep in mind the new management, more notably Weast now has Sachse's Head director, which could be a really useful asset after their really killer season at SHS last year. Another big thing that could be talked about is the guard programs in these programs could have an effect on the programs this year, with those proposals for the judging system. Little Elm is having a historic Open season; Marcus is still really strong, and Prosper Wylie and Rock hill are also having good seasons this year, but in general a lot of the guards here are really good too not just the ones mentioned here. I think this year will be a great year for pretty much every band in this area and I cant wait to see how their shows end up for this year.
