  1. We are 5 seasons into the 2020s, who do you think has had the most growth/comeback in this half-decade?
  2. If the regions remain the same, this is how we are looking bands wise based on enrollments Region 2: Byron Nelson HS Braswell HS Flower Mound HS Guyer HS Hebron HS Lewisville HS Marcus HS Northwest HS V.R. Eaton HS Region 24: Little Elm HS McKinney HS McKinney Boyd HS McKinney North HS? (TBD) Prosper HS Rock Hill HS Walnut Grove HS Wakeland HS Region 25: Allen HS Melissa HS?? (only if cutoff is low enough, enrollment is 2204, but probably unlikely) Plano Sr HS Plano East Sr HS Plano West Sr HS Princeton HS Wylie HS Wylie East HS If North and Melissa both make the cutoff, that's 25 bands. This would mean the possibility of 5 bands advancing to SMBC, which could give schools like Wylie East, McKinney, and Braswell a chance at the Dome, which would probably be ideal considering the area.
  3. Favorite UIL shows are probably Pearland 2023 Westfield 1996 LD Bell 2000 Cedar Park 2024 Rowlett 2006 Sachse 2024 McKinney 2025 possibly??
  4. Community has grown like crazy and so has Celina and PC who are pretty much all 5A locks.
  5. There should be a couple football forums that are well discussed regarding realignment like there is every 2 years. Shoutout to them because figuring this out would be a little more difficult without the work they put in in the realignment discussion . Regarding wakeland, right now they are 2245, so more than likely on the line of 5A/6A, If they make 6A they will probably be in J if it remains as it is, and for athletic districts, I see a district with them and probably the nearby 380 growth spurt schools (PISD, LEISD, maybe DISD, etc.). Right now I don't think there's any word on the McKinneys yet to my knowledge. However, here is what they counted at for the TEA reports for 24-25. North: 2343 Boyd: 2546 High: 2664. If it stays similar to this, they are all locked for 6A. However since to the boundary changes discussed in MISD, this can change so be ready for anything (probably as discussed on here the status quo of Boyd and High in 6A, with North in 5A)
  6. I see our Areas being the same, but at the moment I want to think Regions in specific will be changed for this area. I could see moving maybe PISD and LEISD to Region 2 and then to area B, not sure what would be done in order to re-balance it out though. Its something that will take a lot of discussion for sure. Not sure about LISD though, its just such a predicament because they consistently place top 3.
  7. I could imagine 2,24,25,31, etc getting changed to better the DFW area. I'm not sure entirely how off the top of my head but I see a redraw happening hopefully. I'll try to cook up a prediction this week
  8. And yes, McKinney will be represented this year as High has confirmed their attendance via their social media!
  9. The 2026 BOA Grand National Championships will be held at Lucas Oil Stadium on November 12-14, 2026. Confirmed as of 12/17/2025 (22): American Fork H.S., UT Avon H.S., IN Avon H.S., OH Beechwood H.S., KY Bob Jones H.S., AL Brownsburg H.S., IN Carmel H.S., IN Catawba Ridge H.S., SC Center Grove H.S., IN East Clinton H.S., OH Fishers H.S., IN Goshen H.S., IN Greendale H.S., WI James Bowie H.S., TX Lakota East H.S., OH Lawrence Township, IN McKinney H.S., TX Miamisburg H.S., OH Reeths-Puffer H.S., MI Tarpon Springs H.S., FL Westlake H.S., UT William Mason H.S., OH
  10. Big shoutout to the football realignment community, I swear they congregate like scientists when realignment comes around so shoutout to them. Wonder if any of them have any district projections
  11. ALL 12 frisco schools have been counted for! 2245 - Wakeland 2151 - Reedy 2095 - Lebanon Trail 2013 - Heritage 1935 - Centennial 1928 - Lone Star 1875 - Liberty 1853 - Emerson 1782 - Frisco High 1718 - Independence 1519 - Memorial 1352 - Panther Creek Looks like reedy will likely be staying in 5A for now. maybe next time. Wakeland will be on the bubble for 6A and everyone else is a safe 5A lock.
  12. Congrats to the 2026 state champions THE LONE STAR high school ranger band
  13. Reedy is definetly gonna be on the fence of 6A and 5A this year, still waiting to see the numbers but I am confident that they will be right on that edge like their nextdoor neighbors at Wakeland. Makes me wonder how the districts will look like this coming alignment. Maybe we see a Prosper/Frisco/Denton megadistrict? Not sure yet
  14. 2250 sounds about right. You're right about the decreasing, so that sounds about right. If it was even 2400 cutoff that would be a significantly smaller 6A
  15. I wonder what the football world thinks for the other few cutoffs, at least for 4A, 5A, and 6A. Theres a couple schools I'm curoious about that could jump or drop that I haven't seen their numbers for yet.
  16. Also some other schools are now at risk of dropping down to 5A with large enrollment drops (notably Little Elm at 2444, Boswell to 2402, and Legacy at 2190, they could all be successful at the 5A level, but this depends on the bubble.) Community is also at 1488, welcome to 5A!!! Melissa counts at 2204, they can now be considered in contention for 6A. Imagine an Area J with them, McKinney North, maybe a frisco school and Walnut Grove. That would be nearing 25 bands, maybe more if we see unexpected growth from some other schools!
  17. Richland is at 1796, the new one in prosper, they are very much safely in 5A for this year. PHS, RH, and WG are now near each other in enrollment too, 2605, 2530, and 2476 respectively.
  18. Good morning and HAPPY SNAPSHOT DAY!!! We will soon hopefully know the enrollment figures of a lot of school that will be making the jump or drop to a conference, so stay tuned!
  19. I think that the biggest contenders for dropping to 5A would be Rock Hill and McKinney boyd, that mostly depends on the cutoff probably; I could also see LE or Guyer possibly dropping depending on that, specifically LE due to a stagnant/decreasing enrollment. The biggest guys that might jump MIGHT be North, Walnut Grove, and maybe to an extent Reedy (although they are probably at their limit due to lower enrollments at Memorial and PC that are probably being used in the large district.)
  20. From what I've heard the new RC school in Fate will open 2027, probably will be like how they did with Richland and WG in the past, put the new school in 4a or 5a and eventually that alignment talk numbers for the new schools, I think that yeah Royse could drop to 5A but that will be more of a conversation for 2028's realignment.
  21. Does anyone know any sort of reason why Northwest didn't show up to the area contest last night? Were they DQd or was it some sort of schedule conflict?
  22. Looking at the recaps, I find it pretty sick that through the entire program, there isn't a school you could consider "bad" at all, which is the special part about this area, as there is not one band that you could say doesn't have a quality program or show in Area J.
  23. It's great to see the amount of new advancers to this area! Richland makes it in their first year, and it's also sweet to see a return to Ranchview to this area after a few years!! what a time to be living in in the marching band world.
  24. Here are my predictions for this contest as we head from our 3rd week of competition: 1. Flower Mound 2. Hebron 3. Marcus 4. Prosper/McKinney/Wylie 5. Prosper/McKinney/Wylie 6. McKinney/Wylie 7. McKinney Boyd 8. Wylie East 9. Braswell 10 Rock Hill/Little Elm/Plano East I think we could finally see a new state advancer in this area depending on who can top off their show the most (I'd like to lean towards McKinney if any, loved their show this year), although I haven't seen prosper's show yet the other two are clearly on the rise. We just have to see though. Number 10 is gonna be a bloodbath this year. Plano East and Rock Hill have been at a similar par the entire season, but LE has also started to catch up as well, i know BOA scores shouldn't be included but every judge at the contest had the two almost at par with each other which could show a sign of a tossup for that 10 spot for this year, and there are other schools we could sneak in there such as Byron or Plano West, so this 10 spot could be a bigger fight that anticipated for this year. This contest is gonna be a great one once again, I'd say that if you didn't know which 6A to go to this might be the one.
