UIL 6A Area C 2025

That’s what I was saying yesterday some of these programs are going to lose extremely valuable rehearsal time. Very disadvantageous -

If it ends up getting rained out the make up date is Monday. Could directors have practice on Sunday? Sure. Will they? Idk 🤷🏿♂️. I do know some programs will still have a Friday morning rehearsal but that’s gonna be it until Monday (if rained out Saturday) I’d imagine the top 3-4 bands wouldn’t be that impacted. It’s the #5-10s where I can see this playing a major role in their preparations. -

Guess I need to go check out JJ Pearce, North Forney and Garlands show. Was this like an AI generated list? Who or what designated the points? -

Go ahead and bump up Poteet then. They got the band size (not the student body enrollment though) , they need to stop beating up on smaller schools and come play with the big boys lol North Mesquite can come too they actually do have the enrollment to be 6A why theyre aren’t is beyond me. Let’s see who else. Mt. pleasant maybe? West Mesquite? -

I guess that’s the fairness with all of this mess, is that a wrench is thrown into ALL of the programs well oiled machines lol. -

Nope dont need them to do that. But I’d assume if they go 5A another school May bump up to 6A. Maybe like a red oak or a Kaufman ? Something like that. -

Except for the programs that have Thursday night rehearsals , they lose 3 hours of practice time unless directors schedule it between tomorrow and Friday some way somehow . -

Realizing now some bands have Thursday evening rehearsals. Losing that to a game is not good. Especially for programs needing that extra time to make a good push. Can’t really practice on Friday because of rain unless you do it indoors and or your school has a covered field. -

Come on Jerry get it together!! How are we ever supposed to draw Nationals if we can’t iron out the logistics. (In my fantasy world I’d love for nationals to be in Dallas so that the Indiana schools actually have to travel for said competition. And they can see how far superior these Texas schools are compared to them) -

I’m seeing this movement for a lot of schools. Kaufman, Highland park, Duncanville to name a few -

True that. Maybe we can ask Jerry Jones if we can use his stadium 🏟️ or the Rangers? Lol -

If we can even get prelims on the field. Weather calls for rain all day on Saturday. uil website says rain out date is Monday the 27th. Which would flat out suck for people that would have no issues showing up for their bands on a Saturday as a opposed to a Monday. Not to mention that impacts parent volunteers as well. Lets just hope the rain goes away. -

So now with this potential rain on Friday and Saturday. Does it throw off any programs? You could potentially not have a run Friday Saturday or Sunday. Then have the biggest performance of the season on Monday lol. I wish the rain out date would be at least a couple of days out. -

Idk that I can give a full 10 because most of these shows I’ve only seen live once. But for the ones that I have I think the undisputed #1 is Waxahachie that’s a no brainer. You want an amazing clean sound, with amazing drill and visuals that’s Waxahachie. And I believe that’s with a new director too so that’s actually really amazing. I can see them making state finals (Saw them live twice) #2. Forney, big band, great sound, judges love them lol #3. Sachse. Even though their show to me was 🫤 I can’t deny that they looked and sounded good. Their drill is what stood out to me the most, I liked it better than the music. Last years show was amazing so I guess TO ME the whole retro theme was a bit underwhelming. BUT I bet the judges will love it because again sound quality is amazing! #4. One of the Rockwalls, probably the orange one. Only seen them once but based off of their competition results, they’re the better one of the two as they bested Heath in those competitions but not by much. So a not so good run by them and a better run by Heath could put them in 5th #5. Heath, they’ve tailed the orange band all season, will they finally make the push to put them ahead? We will soon find out. #6. Duncanville, I’ll get to see them live on Friday 2nd time (weather permitting). Something tells me they’re not going to go away quietly. I could see them making the jump. Honestly I think it needs to happen for the sake of their program. Is that the pressure that’s just too much for them? Is it what is distracting them? new director, high expectations, a district looking to appease the crowds, lots of drama there. Theyre picking the absolute worst time to have an “off” year. #7-10 I’ve only seen Berkner once and that was early September, haven’t seen Richardson or JJ Pearce but it sounds like they’re top 10 finishers based off of the forums. Big time sleepers for the 10th would be John Horn a run like they had at the Midlothian finals and theyre in. North Garland possible?. North Forney cool snake, do they belong higher on the list? Probably, they were grand champs at royse city after all but I haven’t seen enough of them to justify where to place them, what’s Rowlett been up to? Maybe a Royse City? The bottom half of the 10 to me could be anyone. -

I’ve seen Heaths show twice and Rockwalls once. Maybe not enough times to justify a placement on my end so that’s why I don’t. I do feel like Duncanville is gonna catapult themselves into a top 5 finish, maybe a top 4? 🤷🏿♂️ Weather permitting I will be viewing their run live on Friday night so we will see what happens. -

Not only is it rain on Saturday as of now but Friday evening as well. That takes away the bands Friday night run. So yeah hopefully goes away or at least pushed into Sunday. Last year wasn’t it moved 2wice due to weather? -

I heard one of the Poteet directors say they’re about 50% freshmen too, and they got 2nd behind Poteet at Midlothian not too shabby. -

I think the 3rd spot could be interchangeable. But as of now, yeah Poteet at 4th. From what I’ve seen, West is not playing around.- 369 replies
