    What day in Feb does UIL announce the new Areas for marching/TMEA? Also does anyone know when Waxahachie is putting up that new high school. I think I heard they are finishing constuction in 2027 and splitting the current highschool in half. Will that put Spirit of Wax in 5A?

    I'd assume it has to do with parking or with stadium layout. Mesquite memorial is one of the worst band stadiums because of it only having 1 entrance/exit so the pit coming in and off of the field run into each other and its a mess. I've preformed there a few times and it's such a hassle especially if your rival school is on the field pushing against you, the words you hear from them could get you instant banned on this site.

    Agean Festival Overture on bassoon. High School The piece moves between so many times signatures almost every 4 bars and it never quite felt settled(even in recordings). The bassoons had multiple solos and many moments where it was only me and my 2 bassoon friends playing. Over all we kind of had an easy part besides how exposed our parts were. The pieces was about 12 minutes long, technically difficult, and muscly difficult. The main highlight of the piece is the 2 minutes clarinet cadenza (solo) that was played so well by one of my friends. Besides the solos and the difficulty of the pieces, over all it was fun and I enjoyed it even though it was way above my skill level. I look forward to playing it in the future.

    I think it will be very very last minutes. I bet we won't find out until a band or 2 before they call prelim results. They have to finish before midnight and if it is like 9:30 when prelims ends and they think they can finish finals by midnight then we might get both.

    I really hope yall's weather sources are more accurate than mine. Sitting in wet seats/moving under the stadium after every couple bands wouldn't be fun.

    Where are yall getting weather from? My app says 95% all day with a slight drop around 3 to 80%. I have also seen weather guys on the news saying similar things. I heard that it is suspected to be prelims only with showers all day causing slight delays between bands.

    I think either berkner or lake Highlands in 2023 was at BOA prosper and had a 10am performance time and had a crazy call time of 3am or something and had a football game the night before. I believe which ever school it was got last at BOA.

    Well yes but it was chosen pretty late and then it ended up not raining. Maybe we need to cancel it like today to fake the rain out

    I've never seen or been in a full retreat in person. The DCI one's and BOA ones look so cool
