  1. This is awesome! While the lot of us are debating in the forums, the kids on the field are pulling for one another. Love to see it. Way to be the example, Lone Star!
  2. Because all Wakeland parents are WakelandSuperDuperFan 🤣
  3. Said the same thing. It's like going to AT&T Stadium and you find yourself watching JerryTV over the live action.
  4. Good for Lone Star! That run was FIRE! Way to overcome! Let's see how the judges rate that one ...
  5. Just saying: Based on what I'm hearing, don't be surprised on Wakeland to 6A. Parents fought to not rezone their lines for this purpose.
  6. So if Aledo, all the Leander ISD schools and Wakeland/McKinney North move up to 6A as is rumored (and in some cases, expected), 5A becomes really interesting next year.
  7. This is the hard part of it all -- that it IS subjective. While it might be judged one way at UIL area, it might not be judged the same way at state. And while it's hard for us, as observers, to digest that, it's got to be even tougher for the kids. The scores on Lone Star's music yesterday -- after being praised all along the way to this point -- has to be mind-blowing for the instructors, but even moreso for those kids. I know they'll step up and knock it out of the park on their Finals run, no matter what the judges think about it.
  8. The rumor in Frisco is Wakeland, indeed, will make the jump to 6A, which would end a pretty epic rivalry with Lone Star in sports/band.
  9. So … gonna drop this bombshell here. Anybody know how legit these rumors are? Look at the powerhouses allegedly moving to 6A. Crazy.
  10. Lone Star got first in music at Area B — even ahead of Wakeland — and got absolutely hammered by judges today. Just don’t get it.
  11. This also includes color guard, where some of these bands have HUGE participation numbers. I believe I counted 41 guard members for Lake Belton, and they weren't the only band with more than 40 dedicated guard members on the field during their state performance.
  12. Congrats to Lone Star on their best ever state finish as their progression continues to ascend at that level. And Area B … just wow All four make finals and place 4, 6, 7 and 10. Take a bow …
  13. Is there any update on the friendswood band member who passed out on the field at end of show and was carted off on one of the prop wagons? Was a scary moment
  14. Didn’t a couple people post them here last night?
  15. Lone Star’s entire band was up and grooving with the Bears in the upper deck. Was hilarious to watch. They were loving it!
  16. Congrats to Area B! And the powerhouse will be getting stronger in ‘25 with Panther Creek joining the fray in moving up from 4A. Lone Star poised for its highest ever finish. Aledo was a showstopper in prelims. Feel for Lake Belton; I had them in. Let’s run it back tomorrow. Seniors, leave it ALL on the field. Enjoy your last runs. Good luck finalists!
  17. Thanks for keeping tabs all day. Job well done
  18. Been here all day and I cannot argue with this list at all. But I’m selfishly rooting for Barbers Hill because that was so fun to watch and would love to see it in finals
  19. Will be close. There’s a chance that all four Area B schools can squeeze in
  20. That Barbers Hill show was FUN! Bet the kids have a blast each and every time they perform. Great uniforms. Way to immerse yourself into the theme.
  21. Ho-lee Aledo!!! That show has gotten so much better since BOA Bedford. So good. Add them to the 2-6 race (pun intended). 1. CP 2-5. Rouse, Lone Star, Aledo, Wakeland (no particular order) 6. Leander
  22. Wakeland: I’ll say it again. Technically sound but lacks the pop, power and degree of difficulty that CP, Lone Star and Midlo brought in the first block.
