I was going to say something similar about Frisco Schools, the district gives them almost nothing, and end up having to do big fundraisers to raise anything. When I went to Wakeland a few years ago we were raising less than 100k, which was barely enough to get by with. Not trying to bash on other programs by any means but money doesn't mean a program is good or bad, but I will say that schools that have loads of money tend to be better than schools with none.

There was a poll sent out to Wakeland parent's to see if they would be ok if Wakeland was moved to 6A, not sure what the results were but I know they were only 50 kids under being a 6A and had to send kids to Memorial instead. Similar thing happened with Reedy a year ago and they sent those kids to Wakeland and Frisco instead.

Yes I definitely agree with that, I understand that uil doesn't want to make any exceptions but technical difficulties shouldn't come in the way of a program's success especially if they can't control it!

I don't think they will, the same thing happened to Wakeland last year with technical difficulties and there will be complaints if they allow Lovejoy to get 1s but didn't allow Wakeland to last year

I do kind of feel like that was a little misplaced, they weren't that much worse than the other bands in ge! Also glad to see LD Bell make a comeback.

We got that last year with Wakeland, I find it pretty likely that they'll be repeat champs especially with their new director and show. I do think the most likely to overtake them is Keller though.

Not sure about that one, Wakeland in 21 was already pretty far ahead of the other schools in Area B and I think in 22 they just leapt further ahead. Not to discount the skill of the other schools in Area B, but I just don't see their success going away that quickly. Who knows though, maybe schools like Lone Star and McKinney North end up having an amazing offseason.

That's funny, I know Wakeland and 1 other band did Wine Dark Sea last year. I wonder if that's just coincidence.

Wow by Cedar Ridge, I think this was their best performance by far and I could've agreed with them getting top 5. Also congrats to Hebron for winning for the 2nd time in a row and also beating last year's score by 2 points, I'm pretty sure they've already won state.

Panther Creek HS and Emerson HS are the smallest bands in FISD and are better than bands twice their size!

Everyone here keeps acting like they know what went on with Wakeland, the only people who really know are those who actually performed with them that day. What happened happened and there's no point in throwing **** around about things you don't know.

Surprised to see Wakeland up there ahead of CP and Coppell. Also this might be me but I could reasonable see Cedar Ridge above Flowermound.

Some equipment broke apparently so they had to delay their start, and UIL says no exceptions.

Wakeland always improving, I can see them getting 2nd at state next year if they keep it up.

If a band does better than expected at their first contest, you should be able to modify your predictions for their next one.

I think Wakeland is going to do pretty good this year, they beat Marcus in Prelims at HEB and in Finals they got 2nd ahead of Keller and Coppell
