Wait can anyone explain what happened to sachse in 2023??? Like the big jump has a lot to do with Area J being introduced but surely that can't explain all of that jump?

Am i crazy or are there not a lot of groups doing this contest this year?

Idk how to judge this Duncanville show. It's good, and they sound good but the visual presentation is really lacking imo. They look good, don't get me wrong there just isn't enough interest visually. Although theres quite a few feet timing problems throughout.

This area is going to be so interesting. I got to see Sachse for the first time tonight and if they can clean up some drill I think they'll have a better shot at the top 4. Was very impressed. Rockwall was very clean and sounded good. Forney sounded okay, not the power that we're used to seeing from them or from the size of that band. I honestly think it'll entirely depend on how the judges interpret things because theres no doubt waxahachie will make it but Rockwall and JJ Pearce have very clean productions that don't take too many risks while Forney and Sachse have larger productions that are riskier and will the judges credit them for that, only time will tell. November 2nd is going to be crazy!

I’m 99% sure that military bands count even if they don’t show up to area. Area C 5A sent like 4 bands to state last year and had less then 20 at area itself.

M&G and Seven Lakes actually tied for 6th in prelims so the split was a Top 7/Bottom 5 going into finals.

It could also be the fact that their percussion ensemble is traveling to Midwest this year so they decided to cut some costs by not doing as many contests.

imo, LC is going to have to really out perform the rest of the competition from a cleanliness and sound stand point because the product they have compared to everyone else is really lacking from what I've seen. Their show last year was much better designed then this year
