  1. Does Glenn have grades 9-12 or are they still adding?
  2. How do you feel about Glenn? I don't know much about them but I've heard them mentioned several times. I know they're not on Cedar Park or Rouse's level but who else are they competing with at Area finals really?
  3. Here's the link to a playlist I made on YouTube for all of the top 5A bands' 2018 shows. Just so we're all on the same page. (Sorry Wakeland is in 4 parts it was the only public video I could find)
  4. Frisco Centennial and Frisco Liberty might attend as well
  5. Cedar Park +1 Round Rock -1 Westfield 16 Leander 33 L.D. Bell 23 The Woodlands 37 Ronald Reagan 28 Richland 23 Marcus 8 Cedar Park 19 Round Rock 1
  6. Roma's in Area G, and there aren't really any bands that compete with them there...
  7. I know I'm a little late on this, but I just saw a video of Wylie East and it was MUCH better than I expected, I had no idea they could make so much sound!
  8. I'm guessing they are just waiting to iron out the terms of their Alamodome deal, but I hope they don't change locations!
  9. Rouse is definitely going to be in the conversation for a medal, as well as Dripping Springs (who I thought should have won in 2017). Not to mention Lebanon Trail and Wakeland. With Cedar Park in the mix, I don't really see any band that is clearly 1st. That doesn't even include Houston-area schools. This sounds like a pretty heated finals competition!
  10. If every 5a band in the state gets a 1 at uil, there will be 51 bands at state. in 2017 there were 35, so I wouldn't be surprised if there ends up being 36 or more at state.
  11. Anybody know how many bands there have to be at prelims for there to be 12 in finals?
  12. same situation for Lebanon Trail, it'd be pretty cool to see both schools at the state competition.
  13. Which area is friendswood in
  14. Frisco ISD had 61 total, but that includes band, orchestra, and choir. The Band total I think was only 26.
  15. Dripping Springs was probably the cleanest visually last year, I was surprised when they didn't get first
  16. Lebanon Trail is really good but I don't know if they've proved they can compete that high. Then again I haven't seen a lot of these bands so
  17. Lebanon Trail had 9 at area but only 2 made state :'( They still don't have seniors though, so next year will go better for sure.
  18. Glenn will be whatever classification it is this year, because the next alignment isn't until 2020
  19. Locks: Cedar Park Wakeland Rouse Dripping Springs Poteet? Potentially in the other half: Highland Park Aledo Weiss Lebanon Trail Princeton??? Roma Lone Star Cenennial??? +Others Looks like the competition among "non-locks" for finals is pretty stacked. The results of state prelims will definitely be influenced by the outcome in Area B. Which others from different areas do y'all think are in the mix.
  20. Yeah I think it would be pretty cool to see a school that's new to 5a make finals in their first year but it will be really hard. If they advance to state they will have a good shot at finals, because advancing from area b is arguably just as hard as placing top 10 in state prelims.
  21. Do y'all think any schools from area b could make state finals this year
  22. I would put McKinney North over Centennial and maybe Lone star, not sure about Wylie East though, I don't see them placing high at finals.
  23. what are the odds that all 4 state spots are frisco schools lmao
  24. and percussion is getting 20 freshmen next year...
