They're doing okay. I went to see them at UIL, and they sound really good, they just need to clean their marching up quite a bit. Lateral slides were kinda all over the place. I think they're getting back to the place they were when I was in the program, back 2013-2017, they just need some polish.

Sunset is a show style band, and they made it to area c in 2012.

What did their director do?

I went to the Region 2 UIL yesterday, and I might be biased since that's the program my cousins are in, but they are leaps and bounds better than they were last year. Other than the big three in that region, Braswell was the only other band that got a standing ovation.

You were right, I read the scores for Paschal wrong, thought they got 1,2,2.

Was really surprised about Lamar and Bowie. From what I remember of them, they were pretty consistently performing at Area.

Does anyone know if they'll be releasing scores for this after?

The Proposed Area B only had 3 bands that did not make 1's at UIL this past season. That would mean 33 bands performing, meaning 6 to state.

So would DI and DII bands be split by program size or by school size?

I think Area B will be interesting to watch, with Berkner getting added in with the rest of Region 3, if the proposed plans go through. That would reunite three of the four state bands from the old Area C, Duncanville, Coppell, and Berkner. The only band missing is Rowlett.

Y'all have Souths old director, Mr. Wood. He's a great guy, and a wonderful director, and I hope he can get y'all there!
