  1. The source material from Timber Creek's show this year includes -Prelude from The Day the Earth Stood Still by Bernard Herrman -Harrison's Dream by Peter Graham -Hide and Seek by Imogen Heap -Nimrod by Edward Elgar -UFO by Michael Daugherty The music seems to line up with the show title.
  2. Seems like both 6a area b and 5a area b are extremely competitive
  3. Although prosper placed higher than timber at San Antonio, it looks as though, from the 2 point gap between them at boa bedford, that timber may be better in early season, leaving prosper to catch up towards the end of the season. However the large gap in scores could have just been as a result of not having finals so really all of the scores may not be entirely accurate.
  4. I don’t know if I’m crazy but I really think that Leander could take it all. The music is just so good and well executed, definitely my favorite by far.
  5. Umm excuse me, how does Rouse sound this good and why haven’t I heard of them before. They’re amazing, wow just wow is all I have to say.
  6. That opener was one of my favorites of the year. Gotta love fireflies by owl city.
  7. I actually really like bells uniforms this year, the torso part is a really nice black and white and the the sleeves start white and ambre to pink. They kind of remind me of the blue devils.
  8. Also, funny thing is that timber and vista both have the same design team.
  9. One thing I like about boa and wgi style judging is that they have systems to keep their judges in check. You can give them a grievance you have and they’ll look into the competence of the judge in question, so while I don’t necessarily think the UIL system needs to be changed I think the process for selecting judges needs to be changed and made much more accurate in determining competent judges.
  10. The fight for the 14th spot is going to be absolutely insane, can’t wait to see it.
  11. Honestly it really looked like Timber was marching and playing the whole time. Also those tempos in their opener and closer were crazy, some of the fastest tempos there
  12. Yeah it’s going to be crazy competition for those top 5 spots, when there were 6 there was at least a slight idea of who could make it, now I just have no idea
  13. I just listened to Leander’s full show and wow they sound amazing. Hearing Danzon on the field was pretty weird though because last year we played it for concert season, we had a trumpet solo rather than a trombone though. I can’t wait to see how they do here.
  14. The criteria they’re using, which is on the adjudication handbook imo didn’t match up with the scores, it’s one thing if the scores matched the placements but its so inconsistent that it’s really hard to tell. I’m sorry but it’s hard for me to believe that out of the 30+ bands trinity had the 3rd best ensememble sound and they still didn’t make finals. It just doesn’t add up.
  15. Not really I think the general ranks are accurate but the way the scores added up made no sense, they ended up adding up to a kind of accurate overall score but the captions and sub captions were so inaccurate and inconsistent.
  16. Yeah literally 4 bands placed higher in music ge than Hebron, I know they had a mic issue but still I don’t think that should affecf it. Overall the judging is really inconsistent throughout, like trinity got 3rd in music ensemble and I’m not saying they didn’t deserve it but the fact that the judges had such differences in opinion I don’t really think the scores reflected the actual performances. That’s just me though
  17. I could see Timber Creek doing very well at area after a 1.6 lead over coppell at Midland, its early season but still.
