  1. I didn't catch Marcus's score but here are the rest of them 10th - Boswell 68.80 9th - Colleyville Heritage 71.40 8th - Centennial 73.20 7th - Liberty 74.90 6th - Mansfield 75.00 5th - Aledo 75.10 4th - James Martin 77.70 3rd - Waxahachie 83.15 2nd - Keller 87.95 1st - Marcus
  2. Finalists are always announced in random order. Starting last year, performance order is 6-10th place bands in prelims go first in random order, and the 1-5th place bands in prelims go last. Both of those are in random order, so the 1st place band in prelims could theoretically go 6th in finals. This year, since they took 11 to finals due to a tie at 10th place, the first 6 bands performing were the 6-11th place bands in prelims and the last 5 were still the 1-5th place bands in prelims.
  3. I said I'd be shocked if they didn't make finals after watching the KISD Marching Expo, but I'm not sure if I'm the first one to bring them up. I've been extremely impressed with them this season. I can't wait to see what they have in store the rest of this year and the future. Hopefully they make the trek up to Indy soon like their fellow Keller ISD counterparts.
  4. Finals schedule. 5. Out of respect for the program, I won't say much about Keller other than I think that Sense of Direction is the best show they've put on the field to date. And I expect them to continue to Ascend. You'll have to wait until tomorrow to find out more
  6. I was at the Keller ISD Marching Expo tonight, and although I haven't seen any of the bands going to BOA Southlake other than the 4 Keller ISD schools and LD Bell, I would be shocked if Timber Creek doesn't make finals here. I thought they looked and sounded spectacular. I'm really excited to see where they place and what they have in store for the future. They seem to continue improving at a substantial rate year over year.
  7. This is aging me quite a bit, but Westfield did an entire Final Fantasy show in 2004, the year after they won GN. It was one of my favorite shows, but unfortunately I can't find a video of it anywhere.
  8. I honestly feel like the top 3, maybe 4 (we'll see tomorrow!!) from San Antonio could have beaten Broken Arrow's prelims performance. I thought it was a little rough musically. I'm sure they'll step it up for Finals though.
  9. All of the Texas bands attending play on Friday 8:00 AM - The Woodlands 9:15 AM - Keller 9:30 AM - Hebron 11:00 AM - Keller Central 7:15 PM - Round Rock For anyone that is planning on watching the live webcast, don't forget that these times are Eastern time so you'll need to adjust them one hour earlier.
  10. I can confirm that the 130 to I-10 is a good option with little traffic. I just arrived from DFW and that's the route I took.
  11. Owasso made the trip to San Antonio in 2004 and took 3rd place. That was an impressive show. I don't think they'll place that high this year but they should definitely contend for a Finals spot. 2004 Results: 1st: Ronald Reagan 92.90 2nd: Churchill 91.50 3rd: Owasso 89.65
  12. There's a 2-part video of Blue Springs on YouTube. The video angles are horrible, but they're definitely going to be a force to be reckoned with at Nationals. I'm obsessed with their drum break. Plus that flute choir at the end of Hymn of Acxiom is fantastic and very beautiful. I hope they come back to San Antonio soon.
  13. Oh man... I love Short Ride in a Fast Machine on the field. I'm aging myself here but Westfield 2000 anyone?
  14. Couldn't agree with this more. I was extremely impressed by their early season video. In fact, I think they sounded even better than last year which I would argue was the best that Reagan has ever sounded.
  15. I realize this is a Texas forum, but here's what our Grand National representatives are up against Avon - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o0Z7n13Z8jQ
  16. Found these videos on YouTube from preview performances Berkner - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=90otmaNLES8 (Show starts around 9:30) Keller Part 1 - Keller Part 2 - Friendswood - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gTAexxsdmik
  17. Who did Hebron lose? For what it's worth, I know that Kevin Nix is doing visual design for Keller this year, but I was under the impression that he worked with multiple schools in a season.
  18. Keller HS: "Do Not Go Gentle..." "Grace Before Sleep" by Susan Lebarr "Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night" by Elliot Del Borgo "Letting Go" by Michael Giacchino "The Red Machine" by Peter Graham Original music by Carol Brittin Chambers
  19. I believe Timber Creek (the newest Keller ISD HS) is planning on going to St Louis also. Big year for Keller ISD for sure.
  20. Accidentally posted twice
  21. This depends on what you intend to use it for. As a former all-state piccoloist, I recommend getting a Hammig piccolo for concert band. It has far and above the best tone. For marching band, I used a plastic Yamaha. Just don't get a metal piccolo. They tend to be more shrill and have more intonation issues than the plastic and wood piccolos.
