Thank you for supporting our kiddos! I really enjoy all of the love within Leander ISD, and this echoes something Daniel said in his podcast. A couple of examples from last weekend at BOA Austin. First, we were back at our band hall watching the webcast of the Prelims awards, awaiting the announcement of the Finalists. Every time any of our 5 sister schools was announced for drum major introductions or an award in Prelims, our kids would cheer loudly. Every time. Later that evening our kids were lined up and moving over towards the gate for the Full Retreat and they were crossing the Leander band kids in the parking lot. Leander stopped and with kids on both sides of our moving line they all started trading high fives as the line moved. Man, I love that stuff!

Thank you for the shout out to Vista Ridge. The kids have endured a really demanding two weeks and have done so beautifully. Nice to be appreciated.

I think the second best band in Austin ISD after Bowie is probably McCallum.

Heads up to anybody travelling from South Austin or San Antonio... I-35 at Oltorf both directions will be shut down at 10pm Saturday night for construction. All lanes will be diverted to the frontage roads. It's happening Friday night as well. This will affect folks driving home after Finals Saturday night.

That doesn't look like much of a disagreement.

The only two non-Metroplex schools got slots at 8am and 9:45. That's messed up.

Frankly, I hope Vista cancels. We have a road football game the night before. This is ridiculous. It will be a killer on the kids to do this.

It is highly unlikely to surpass the 1900 hurricane. That had a 15 foot storm surge and over 6,000 people killed.

Cedar Park High School is built for a smaller capacity than all of the other Leander ISD schools.

And I don't understand why they would make the schedule start so early. You could move everything back 2 hours, making it a lot easier on the kids who have been out late at a football game the night before. I'm kinda pissed because my band, in particular got screwed here.

Region 32 goes 5 for 5.

All 10 from Region 29 got 1's. Good news there. Greatly increases the chances of advancing 4 to State from Area H.
