Dang that is an insane line up!

Hmmm no Mineola? I figured they would have jumped all over this after being the only 3A school to ever make a Finals at Melissa. I hope it's not the same weekend Mineola is trying to have their Marching Contest because a good majority of people that went to it last year are now going to Melissa.

I think with the date change being so recent, I'm not trusting anything about either lineup except for new changes to calendars that happen in February/later. Or when official lineups for either contest are updated again. Prosper is still on both lists, for example.

Very strong small school lineup! I don't think the Valley View listed for this contest is the same 4A Valley View in South Texas. I believe it's the 3A Valley View from up in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

Marcus will most likely end up getting reclassified. They have been in world before, and they usually place at the top of open class whenever they compete, so I think it's time for them to go back to world class. A 77 this early screams wrong class. Also we could see Wylie get put into a situation Emerson had last year, where they got reclassified by the local circuit and not WGI. Just something to keep in mind.

Both Katy and Dripping Springs were late bloomers last season, with them placing a bit lower early and mid-season and then really jumping up in the ranks in the last 3 weeks of the season. I kind of expect the same kind of scenario this year because both groups really push more toward open class skills and designs that don't get fully refined till the end of the season. I am very excited to see Pearland this year after their successful season last year. I hope we could see them place very well in open class this year. A lot of these schools will face each other again in a few weeks at WGI Austin, and we will see how much they improved and who will come out on top. My pick is Friendswood (if they dont get reclassified but I think they might) to win it but you never know.

I was thinking about it but it’s not a close drive, and I like staying for the award ceremony’s and I’ll probably be seeing most bands at Bedford at some point anyways, but definitely an option!
