Vin Posted October 2, 2022 Posted October 2, 2022 Hello everyone, any info and updates on the 2022 Royse City Marching Classic would be welcome! Schedule and updates on scores and rankings would be helpful! Quote
Vin Posted October 2, 2022 Author Posted October 2, 2022 This is looking relatively stacked, wow! The 5A division looks very stacked, considering Poteet, West Mesquite, Melissa, Princeton, T-High, Marshall, etc. Do you know how finals will work, how many they will take? Quote

I would think 10 since its only 25 bands. And normally 30 bands or more adds the extra spots Quote
Vin Posted October 3, 2022 Author Posted October 3, 2022 Predictions? I go to Marshall, any comments on us this year? Quote
Dave609 Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 I feel like Poteet may take it because I don't know Marshall that well Quote
Vin Posted October 3, 2022 Author Posted October 3, 2022 Oh okay, though maybe you might have seen us this year. I feel like Rockwall Heath will take it realistically, but Melissa is also crazy good. Quote
SaxPapi101 Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 I saw Rockwall Heath yesterday at Mesquite, they sounded so much better than in previous years. I think they took a huge jump, coming into this year. Quote
Vin Posted October 7, 2022 Author Posted October 7, 2022 Asked my band director today, he said 5a and 6a are competing separately from 3a and 4a, and 5a and 6a will have 10 in finals, while 3a and 4a have 7. This weekend is definitely going to be interesting. Will anyone be there and possibly be able to record the bands there? Quote

Idk to be honest I've been there too and you're right but that's what he said, maybe he was wrong not sure. He knows more than I do though Quote
Vin Posted October 9, 2022 Author Posted October 9, 2022 No idea how finals went, but they did indeed take 10 from 5A and 6A (Division I) and 7 from 3A and 4A (Division II). I am not sure on which Division II bands made finals, but I remember the list of bands from Division I. Mesquite Poteet HS West Mesquite HS Melissa HS Princeton HS Texas HS Rowlett HS Rockwall-Heath HS Tyler Legacy HS Garland HS North Forney HS We sadly did not make finals, missed by 1 spot, we were 11th. It was really cool to see all of these great bands in one place though honestly, it was a bit scary. Any results from Finals? Quote
Vin Posted October 9, 2022 Author Posted October 9, 2022 1. Melissa HS 2. Rowlett HS 3. Princeton HS 4. Rockwall Heath HS 5. ? 6. Mesquite Poteet HS 7. ? 8. ? 9. West Mesquite HS 10. ? This is all I could find by looking up Facebook pages. Quote

Vin Posted October 9, 2022 Author Posted October 9, 2022 Melissa blows me away, they moved up to 5A just this year, but they've been consistently defeating many good 6As. They are insane. Also Princeton at 3rd is crazy. Dave609 1 Quote
SaxPapi101 Posted October 9, 2022 Posted October 9, 2022 Honestly, I believed Heath should have gotten 2nd or 1st, their musicality was INSANE. Quote

MHS_Trumpet01 Posted October 11, 2022 Posted October 11, 2022 This was such a fun contest! I go to Melissa and want to congratulate all of those that competed on Saturday. I hope all of you have a great rest of your season! LeanderMomma 1 Quote
