Katy Marching Invitational 2022

This contest is being held at the Legacy Stadium in Katy. 

Does anyone know the schedule for this event?

Katy ISD schools only compete against other KISD schools in prelims with the winner performing an exhibition while they tally results after finals. So finals will be all non-Katy schools.

Which Katy ISD Bands are competing here?

All 9. Katy, Paetow, JET, Seven Lakes, Cinco Ranch, Morton Ranch, Tompkins, Mayde Creek, Jordan

I also think Churchill Fulshear, Foster and Friendswood will be the top 3.

They changed the format this year. 

The top 14 scoring bands, regardless of classification will advance to the final competition.
• A maximum of 7 Katy ISD bands may advance to finals.
• The top 7 and lower 7 advancing bands to finals will perform in their pre-drawn order starting with the
lower 7 advancing bands and concluding with the top 7 advancing bands.

Thanks for the update. This will make this contest more meaningful for other Katy schools that know they aren’t the “best” KISD band. It also allows KISD schools to have an opportunity to get another performance run under their belts!

I only know Cinco Ranch made finals and they perform at 8:15

One would hope. They typically haven’t posted recaps for this contest. I’ve only heard them announce final scores live. In the past, directors get the recaps but nothing posted online.

That is disappointing... I really want to know how many placements Lumberton was from finals.
