Texas 4A Area C 2025 marching band predictions.

I kind of feel the same way. I feel like their past several shows have been unoriginal. Last year’s show was entertaining I will admit.

I've seen 6A state finalists use a met early season.  Not uncommon.

Still don’t like it. I think this is the win at all cost culture we create. Let the kids perform. Otherwise it’s just a rehearsal in front of people.

I can’t decide if you are trolling or not.

Most bands didn’t even start learning drill until the second week of August. I’m actually impressed SS has so much on the field with some choreo. 
 

I couldn’t tell what happened in the video. Suddenly there were 3x the number of guard members. Did ALL the woodwinds put down their horns and pick up flags?

Trolling? No. It’s dumb. Plain and simple. That’s my opinion. Sorry if you don’t like it.

Most I know of would have instead had them just stand still from a certain point, or allow them to potentially struggle and then again emphasize the NEED to watch their drum majors. I don’t think he's trolling. It's just a different perspective from some that had not seen that done before.

North Lamar. It was under a minute and a half and starts with front ensemble. So there wasn't a lot to judge so far. They may be running behind from rainout days, the 2nd movement might be long, or waiting on drill designer, etc..

Wow! I personally don't want to hear metronome of course. I don’t know if amyone does want to hear it while viewing a performance. On the other hand, these are repeating state finalists! So I'm sure they have their perspectives on building up a season, and it is clearly working for them!

Okay, I also for one don't want to hear the metronome but I understand why it's being used. It's the first week of the football season and some bands have only had the full band together for 2-3 weeks. Most bands last night probably only did movement 1 and/or 2. Also, you can image some of these kids marching are Freshman and probably nervous. Give bands a week or two and you will see the metronome's disappear.

I swear I thought NL wasn’t going to advance out of area last year. I watched video and saw them in person a few times and they had me sweating. I was holding my breath at area and was relieved to see they were pulling it off. I don’t know what the deal was prior to area? The show seemed so flat.

It's the first week, like I said alot of shows you can't expect a full run yet. Most bands only did the first two movements and some only did 1.

Yep. I know some bands have been waiting on their drill designers. Not just freshman marching, but a decent number of schools give the option for 8th graders to march too. There are just so many varying factors this early on. I personally don't start forming real opinions until at least the first weekend in October when the bands start putting their show with props out there to be judged. The second weekend in October is usually better.  I also am a believer in the theory that a band/team can "Peak too Soon".
