Dream Competition

So many great competitions around Texas during Marching Band season between School Hosted Competitions, BOA’s, Regionals and Areas….

But if you could create a dream band competition in Texas…

What venue would you pick?

What bands would you invite?

What scoring system would you choose?

Mooooooost importantly, what would the venue’s concessions stand have to stock up on?

I shall go first..

”The Go Band or Go Home” 

Location: The Cotton Bowl, Dallas

2- Day event during the Texas State Fair  

Day 1, Prelims from 8:00am-8pm on a Tuesday (discount day at the Fair)

Day 2 Finals the following Tuesday evening  

Attendance: all the great bands of Texas with showoffs from University of Texas, Oklahoma, Grambling, Prairie View, etc  

Concessions: All the Fair Foods, lol

Scoring, left up to the experts 😂

I love this idea! I think me personally would just be a grand nationals of all the best bands from each state. I’d say 40-45% of the roster would be Tx bands, and I’d just use previous results from that season to determine who gets invited. Then obv the top dawgs from Indiana, Oklahoma, Florida, California, Ect. And, it would all be judged by me and my friends from high school/college that did/are marching. I think that would be pretty fun lol. We’d call it Grand Nationals Premium (kinda basic Ik). And, it would finally be held either at the Alamodome or somewhere in the middle of all the states.

In terms of getting invited yeah. I love the smaller bands but I just want to see one huge contest of nothing but big dawgs

That would definitely be easier for TX bands fs!

I feel like this would definitely be great, and would also increase the number of Tx, Ok, and Ak bands that attend grand nats.
