I guess the PC directors pick this contest knowing the band will be moving up next year more than likely but it still seems like a weird choice. Pc and celina didn’t compete against one another last year until state and they are less than 20 minutes from each other. Seems like they would want to measure the band against some of their competitors in 4A 

In terms of 4A bands I think Celina and PC are really the only ones that can do very well against 5A bands. All depends on if Heritage gets rid of the train this year or not...

Schedule is uploaded! Per the plano east website. Not sure if the Jasper mentioned is the school in Plano or Jasper because it was mentioned to be a 4A. Asides from that everything else seems to have been mentioned in here asides from the addition of the Prosper Richland school.

Panther Creek is super good especially for a 4A school but I think they're slotted pretty well in 3rd. Definitely above Heritage and the other ok schools but not above WE or Emerson.

As an ardent Panther Creek glazer I think its very possible they can pull a 2nd. Visually speaking they're one of if not the best in Frisco, or at least they were last year.

Recently, newly established 4A programs have done very well in their first few years (West Plains and Panther Creek to name a couple). If recent history is a good indicator, Richland will do well here. I currently see their ceiling at 7th, but we will see if they surprise all of us!

WMI schedule is up via the Pearce band website, and very interestingly, Richardson is on their schedule. I'm pretty sure Richardson will be doing PEMI since that's what's on their calendar. Can anyone confirm?

Richardson should be at PEMI that’s what their directors have been saying and it’s on their main/leadership calendars too.
(although we are still on for USBands Saginaw according to the USBands website I think that’s just an error though)

Also I would note Richardson hasn’t had any performances other than their premiere and when they performed for Pearce (since they hadn’t gotten to perform at their first game) since their games have been both rained out and delayed and they couldn’t fit the show in half-time, I’m feeling for these seniors right now ngl 

so I really have no clue where they place in top five but I’d guess below Wylie east and panther creek probably

Heres my questionable prediction

1: East

2/3: panther creek/emerson

4/5: Richardson/heritage

6: west

past that I’ll just go with tubalord he’s been right most of the time

Most interesting head to head I see coming out of this competition I think will be the Emerson/Heritage vs Panther Creek battle. Emerson/Heritage has been competing with the Area B 5A bands the past few years, but I was impressed with Panther Creeks state performance last year. I tend to try to wait until first round of competitions finish before making many public predictions, but I would not be shocked to see Panther Creek getting the silver here.

I think it’s pretty clear Heritage will likely get 4th (MAYBE somehow 3rd) but Emerson is for sure above them and Panther Creek is awesome despite being a 4A school, which they could also take second but it’ll be a tough matchup against Emerson

Sure, and I would agree with you that Emerson probably wins the head to head with Heritage…This is more of a point about 5A Area B Bands vs 4A Panther Creek. But, also you can’t completely count a band like Heritage out in that head to head, since they did technically beat Emerson at area last year. But then say what you want about the judging outcome of last years area.

It's 9-10 Jasper from Plano that feeds into Plano West. They're going in the competition block as a 4A this year instead of NV with the other 9-10 Plano schools.
