2025 McKinney Marching Invitational (Oct 4th)

Did anyone see JJP in prelims? I thought they would be in 2nd half of final bands. 

They have to be bummed after doing really well here last year.

Heritage: sooo, heritage is really freaking good. Their ensemble sound is huge, and omg that perc is sooooo clean, wished their feature was longer. Need to work on some accuracy in trumpets. Visually very good as well, really nailed those cover downs, should make finals at area, them and Emerson may be closer than some may have thought…maybe, I’m no judge

i really liked heritage’s show!

Hmmmm, I have mixed feelings about RH. I kinda have the same feeling for them as Emerson. It doesn’t feel like the show really brings out their full potential. They are very clean, a couple stick outs/tuning things but very good sound. Guard was also amazing, and visually lots of cool visuals that brought out the theme, loved the trombone solo. Great job ual

Rock Hill guard was better during finals than prelims. Something just isn’t hitting. Can’t put finger on it. Also think they probably have a little bit to finish. Its solid, its just not wow solid yet

Independence HS

Nothing flashy but solid performance. However, those black silhouettes gave off a creepy City of Angels vibe.

It’s really insane seeing how far independence has come under Mr. king. I mean wow, that’s definitely a dark horse for state. So much power in the sound, soloists were fantastic. Could beat RH tn and I wouldn’t be super shocked. Probably their best show to date, amazing job Indy!!

Plano East, enjoyed more tonight. Still feel like it got really busy when the gems came out and music became soft. Unique concept though.

PLANO EAST, hello??!?! This is bottom half??? This is my first time seeing this legendary program live and boy are they building off last season, a very strong contender for area finals and even finals at boa Waco. There is soooo much GE, both musically and visually. The pick axe section was so fun, soloists were nails, like omg they are really good. Watch out area J

Wylie….band to beat! From first hit to end, clean and awesome! Starting off top 6 on 🔥 Would be shocked if they don’t pull out the Victory tonight. But I know who I want to push them. That  sax solo 🎷  the one color guard girl that fell on her arial, bless her. Glad she looked like she could brush off. My daughter gasped.

Yeah so Wylie was insane. Ballad is straight magic, insane sax soloists. Just such a big presence and mature sound. Thought the narration added some nice effect. Visually very strong,  couple moments in the drill. And that guard, WOW. Amazing job TWB!!

Argyle can bring it!!! Loved their Music mix. The name of the night is Sax solos! Beautiful job of fields of goal. Even Sting would he proud! All the wheat has me wanting a drink this stadium doesn’t sell. The contrast throughout show, amazing.

Ok Reedy, welcome to the show! Solid musically and visually. Marching sometimes looked like floating across field. Ghost theme appropriate. End felt slightly off but fantastic show.

My gut says Wylie, Lebanon Trail and then anyone else in Top 6 prelims could be 3-6. I like Plano East at 7, Rock Hill at 8, North Forney at 9, Independence at 10, Emerson 11, Heritage 12

Great Exhibitions from Mckinney Boyd and McKinney High…..almost time to put a bow on this one!
