3.Highland park/North mesquite Highland park is small but very mighty just some cleaning here and there. north mesquite i havent seen in a fat minute so year.

4. highland park/north mesquite

5.West mesquite/Kaufman. west mesquite has a very engaging show and what not i think they could def move up if they were to clean this up. kaufman is pretty clean but the music book etc is rather easy material.

6. west mesquite/kaufman

7-10. honestly up for grabs

Really, that’s an interesting way to divide their band. I wonder if this is gonna affect how their runs will look, if alternates are getting runs, could this be affecting their competitive group since they’re not receiving as many reps as they could be getting?

Wow, after watching performances the state spots could be a total mash up. Here are my predictions for this years area competition.

1. MP/NM  I honestly believe mount pleasant could be a great contender for that area champions spot. Their visuals look absolutely phenomenal! I honestly love their falling prop I believe it adds a dramatic effect and it looks amazing. North mesquite could be getting a run for their money by MP. North mesquite looks very nice and their ensemble sound is great. Their visuals are also very intriguing I’m excited to see these two bands advance this season.

2.MP/NM

3. LC They look great this year! I haven’t seen many performance of them so far but I’m excited to see how they look this season.

4. WM/poteet I believe this 4th place spot could be either poteet or west. They are both very strong competitors for that state spot. West mesquites drill looks very interesting this year along with their music line up. West mesquite has many straight lines in their drill this year. Last year they also had straight lines but they didn’t look as good as they do this year. many of the students last year missed their dot and it just looked a hot mess. I believe if west cleans their drill they could definitely be in the running for a state spot. Their visuals are also very cool. I love how their guard almost doubled if not tripled in size! I’m excited to see how far west goes this year. Poteet has much potential but seeing that performance they put on they don’t look very clean. But it’s hard to rank these bands considering it’s very early in the season. I’m going to keep my eye out for poteet. I truly believe west and poteet will be battling it out for that last spot. I’m excited to see how this plays out.

Wow!!! A lot of really exciting shows and competitions for these schools are starting soon… I’m really excited to see when these band come together and compete at area…!

prediction:

1st Poteet/ Mount pleasant 

2nd MP/Poteet

3rd North/ Lc

4th LC/ North

6th Kaufman/ Hp

7th HP/ Kaufman 

For north honestly I really feel strong about their show… perhaps they could move up in my predictions sooner…

This area is actually really underrated, so many really awesome bands and statistically so little state spots, this area has to be one of the most competitive areas in the DFW area

Wait…tea.  It’s insane that they have enough people to make a whole other band with alternates. And now knowing that the run in that video is just alternates, it makes me wonder how the competitive group sounds bc tbh that run sounded pretty on par for this early in the season. The directors there being willing to cut the band in half shows how serious they are about making a state run.

I think the production shifts attention from the easy drill, that they mostly flutter and don’t march most sets, and they stay in the front portion of the field for most of the show. Musically, while playing a demanding music book, they aren’t very clean.

Hmm interesting… I’ll go ahead and switch them to 3rd to 4th place then, but that’s confuses , I don’t know a lot about Lakeview but Lakeview but from what I’ve seen I feel like Lakeview is a pretty strong band but sometimes lacks consistency and their music book isn’t the hardest, I haven’t a heard a lot about this years show…

I also wanna see HP action too so I think in later predictions when I’ve seen more they could be a possible 5th to 4th contender later… it still a little confusing to me though, but this proves that this area is so underrated and is super competitive !
