Here are my finals predictions:

 

1. wakeland

2. lonestar

3. LT

4. Argyle

5. Liberty/Reedy/WG

6. Reedy/Liberty/WG

7. WG/Reedy/Liberty

8. MN

9. Independence

10. Emerson/Heritage

 

1-3 lock ofc self explanatory

4th argyle because they look really clean visually and their soloists are crazy good

5-7 tough war between reedy, liberty, and walnut grove because liberty beat reedy and MN at BOA without GE so i feel like liberty shouldn't be slept on + area doesnt judge GE that much... reedy looks crazy this year visually and musically and I LOVE their theme and they beat argyle at mckinney in prelims but lost to them in finals and champs at Wylie but since liberty is the first to go, reedy most likely will claim the upper spot... WG is a sleeper since they beat both MN and Reedy and BOA and theyve pretty much always had great shows since their opening

8-MN stole a state spot last year and with a tad of a falloff because they placed 20th in BOA out of 23 but as always i could be wrong who knows

9-Independence, everyone says theyre a "wall of sound" but i dont agree with that... sure they sound good and are somewhat clean at visuals but the past 2 years theyve placed pretty low in the standings... now obviously they had a rainy show in '23 and their show was alright at best in '24... so thats why i think they'll make finals but not very high

10-Heritage was one of the 2 at region who got a 2 but i feel like they deserved straight 1s, and their show from a musical standpoint is not that bad + their percussion is one of the best in texas... Emerson on the other hand, they did place well in '23 but missed finals in '24 by just one place so i feel like they could make a finals appearance

 

11-12 Memorial/Frisco

obviously anything can change but this is what i predict for tomorrow

im predicting based off of last year, and ive seen these shows in person so im basing it off of that as well, but like it aint that deep fr so chiyll

would be awesome if memorial made an appearance at finals despite their change in directors shaking things up a little

BOA is still a great opportunity to see where bands in comparison. many great bands also don't attend boa, so don't let a prediction where u feel your band is under placed upset you. after all, its just a prediction, and its all in good fun.

As a member of The Colony, it sucks that we unfortunately cannot be there today. If anyone could give updates or possible videos of today, that would be great, along with prelim and final results. Also heres my finals prediction  for today with a brief summary

1. Wakeland ( I could possbily see a Lone Star upset here but for now I'm stuck with Wakeland )

2. Lone Star ( The top two spots in this area are pretty locked but I have Lone Star here )

3. Lebanon Trail ( Coming off a shocking state miss in my opinion last year I think this year they will have no problem getting in. There show choice is amazing this year )

4. Argyle ( The final state spot I think will go with argyle even tho I see if being down to the wire with Reedy )

5. Reedy ( I haven’t seen their show this year even tho I pretty familiar with the concept however with their new director they seem to be having a massive up year and could possibly slide into state this year )

6. McKinney North ( I definitely see this band placing lower than previous years. I just don’t think the same jazz concept will work for this year, however this is still the band who has been going to state for the past years so I still have them above bands like Walnut Grove, Independence, etc )

7. Walnut grove ( Haven’t see much of this band but from what I heard they seem to be doing really well this year and I even seen people place them really high but this is where I have them for now. )

8. Independence ( This band sounds incredible and I hate to have them this low in finals but honestly this Area is just too stack for all these state level bands in my opinion )

9. Emerson ( A lot of people might disagree here with me but I’ve actually seen this band and they look incredible. I could possible see them place even higher )

10. Liberty ( They have the toughest spot to perform in for prelims this morning and it could effect their finals placement but I still see them making finals ) 

Bubble - 11. Heritage, 12. Melissa 13. Memorial 

I could be totally wrong with this list but this is just what I predict based off what I seen and heard. If anyone could send prelims videos or comments later today that what be much appreciated. I really hope that next year they move these bands to different areas or completely change their qualifications cause this area is just too stacked for all these bands.

Emerson parent here - steady rain starting with Liberty’s show made it pretty miserable this morning. So on top of the early call time we had rain - boo! In my biased parent opinion Inthought Emerson looked amazing & put it all out there. Really hoping for finals for these kids - just like every other band they’ve worked SO hard this year! I didn’t stay for anyone else - couldn’t take the cold & rain, so I’ll just have to wait for results announcement. Let’s go Emerson!
