Lone Star 2. McKinney High 3. Argyle 4. Rock Hill 5. Lakeview 6. Walnut Grove 7. Little Elm 8. Celina 9. Memorial 10. Liberty Expand I agree with this one as well, I think 5/6/7 will be interesting to look at because i'd consider the 3 to all be pretty close to eachother so I can't wait to see how it ends up this fall. I think it will be great to see this contest especially with the newcomers. BassoonSOLO5456 and Idkwhattoputhere 2 Quote

SharksAreCool Posted May 20 Posted May 20 I think the top three is gonna be a battle between Lone Star, McKinney, Rock Hill, and Argyle, but don't count out Walnut Grove. I got my hopes high for them next year. JustaTuba and OGFISD99 2 Quote

dfwhorn Posted May 26 Posted May 26 Here is how bands confirmed in the contest competed against each other in contests with more than one from this contest in it. (with exceptions being UIL and Melissa itself) I made this when I was making my predictions for this contest once again today (which i'll probably post later) but feel free to interpret this however needed for predictions as I felt this could be important for other's predictions for this contest. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1jnGILFEu-lfA5QIOcXjcBS8tcHr_SWlPQvEv10QE-Pk/edit?usp=sharing Idkwhattoputhere 1 Quote

I think we could definitely see some new faces in this contest rise up, and that's what is exciting. Lots of Area J action in here as well could be a preview with 3 bands that could all be in contention this year. Excited to see how it goes! I'll post some new predictions in just a minute. dfwhorn Posted June 19 Posted June 19 Here are my 2nd version of predictions, excited to see how this contest goes. 1. Lone Star 2. Argyle 3. McKinney 4. Rock Hill 5. Little Elm 6. Walnut Grove 7. James Martin 8. Liberty 9. Memorial 10. Celina 11. Rowlett 12. North Forney/Garland possibly? I have them in their "bubbles" that I think could be interchanged with each other. Also now that you have Argyle as one of your Percussion options, i'm a bit curious to see their percussion so I'll have to watch. I think this will be one of the lists to look at before we start seeing some shows in the Fall, but I think that there will be a lot of action in the top 5 that you put down and this will be one of the DFW contests to go to this year. Seems like that program has a new director every two years. I know the guy who is now at Celina really built up the Community program before he left for Celina. Expand Sadly that is starting to happen a lot in the Dallas area is people going to a program for a few yrs and jumping ship to another program or a bigger one. It's just like coaches, there are some that will stick it out no matter what and be a lifer and there are some that are always chasing that talent and when the talent dries up they go elsewhere. Community has a pretty good program but sadly they are consistently behind the big name 4A Bands and with that entire area growing like it is (I remember Community use to be a 2A school). I could see them moving up to 5A Quote
