This normally happens when a run isn’t as strong compared to another band who’s run was much stronger in finals, which seems to have been the case for Independence

Not 💯 sure your question…but if question is how do they flip in finals, one passing over two others and vice versa…

Well, finals is a new run and judges often rotate what they are judging. 
 

If not done this way, why have finals?

Its the way these things play out, early season competitions (in regards to comparing year to year) is essentially random.

 

Reedy was unexpected for me personally, but my top half was fairly accurate in terms of the overall bubble, which to me is the higher priority for my personal rankings. Area and State finals are the only competitions where I think individual placement truly matters to me, but its not something really anyone can accurately predict to a T

Holy inconsistency in prelims lol. Not everywhere but Lovejoy having a 10, 1 and 3 in music lol. Finals looked a lot better.

Wow, Lake Highlands really did get 1st in 6A. Not sure how that was above Boyd or Sachse in Prelims, but that’s the wackiness of WMI!

my 4 things I’m shocked over

So Sachse won music in 6a,and tied with reedy in music overall in prelims even though it dropped in finals,but I thought the music was better in finals unless they are counting the electronics and mic issues,either way I didn’t have sachse over boyd in music in prelims 

I didn’t have independence or lake highlands in my top 5 these are really good band but the music isn’t there to me

Birdville I thought was pretty good don’t see how they dropped so much  

rankings are also all over the place like music and visuals but this is another stacked competition that’s hard to rank🤷🏻

Personally I woulda put the order as Reedy, Boyd, Sachse, Independence. Also who’s that one judge whose rankings are so different from all the other judges? Seems very out of place…
