So true!!! As long as the Melissa Marching Showcase is on the 20th (it’s normally a week 1 comp), then I expect this one to be possibly the most stacked it’s been since Covid!! (thought 21 was really strong). Very happy to see this one on a date with no other major comps this day

Welp, I just checked Melissa HS’s calendar bc I was curious and their showcase is also on the 27th 🥲

definitely gonna be interesting to see who goes where, still think WMI will be much bigger than last year, plenty of bands in the north Texas area for the two comps to “share”

Plus, McKinney MI isnt happening on the last September week, but now its usual schedule with Bedford, so that opens up a lot for the level of programs weve come to expect at WMI and Melissa

Keller Central is a maybe for this contest - they have WMI on their calendar, but is incorrectly set for October 4th. They also have HEB listed for September 27th.

I'd imagine they'll got to HEB. I am very interested to see who is going to come on top here. If Flomo comes back that duh but if not. Hoping we get at least 10 bands here

Frisco Independence will attend this contest, and McKinney North has dropped this contest in favor of Melissa Showcase.

I have now seen a tiny amount of early season, but I think the top 3 are very very obvious in how itll go, we will see but I think its fairly obvious in my personal opinion:

1. Sachse
2. McKinney Boyd
3. J.J. Pearce
4. Lake Highlands
5. Reedy
6. Birdville
7. Plano Senior
8. Independence
9. Lovejoy
10. Naaman Forest
Sachses intro drill alone blows Boyd and Pearce out of the water objectively, which is not a jab at either because Boyd and Pearce have improved a lot compared to last year, but Sachse is operating at a different level difficulty and cleanliness wise, otherwise confident in rankings until 6, from there its absolute guesswork.

I think its going to come down to visuals, musically I could see them trading blows but Sachse has SO MUCH drill. Boyd definitely is operating on a different level from last year, but I think Sachse is a level beyond that, but regardless all that means for us is a better competition, which I doubt anyone is complaining about haha
