UIL 6A Area E 2025

just released prelims and finals score sheets!

Just some things to note here:

- Dawson winning woodwinds in prelims, then brass in finals

- Clements winning brass and getting 12th in perc in prelims while being 5th overall

- Foster not making finals and getting 17th???

- Top 5 staying the same between prelims and finals

- Elkins(the goats🐐) perc finishing top half in 5th

- 3 bands tied for 8th place

- Clear lake getting 10th due to tie breaking rules while not placing below 9th in any caption

Judging completely all over the place once again. I personally feel for PM, 21st by one visual judge nuked them. And for the 30th band not making area so no 12 band finals took out any redemption shot. Also where is Dobie in the results? I could’ve swore I saw their trailer there.

Frank J. Dobie and Manvel placed in the 22nd and 23rd placements, however for whatever reason they were cut from the recaps.

There’s issues with all of the Houston area results pages, area I is also missing 22 and 23, and area F only has the finals page

Wow George Ranch has grown significantly from last year they jumped up 9 placements and Elkins too. I am very proud of these programs I know these kids worked hard. And very proud of everyone else too everyone was amazing and your hard work was shown on that field.

As somebody said it’s supposed to be all over the place due to the new sheet BUT that only applies for brass woodwinds and percussion I understand if a band has bad percussion and good brass and there’s a difference 

Though for PM the visual judges judging the same thing had very different outlooks on the same band 21 to 12 is a large difference.

That 6 and 10 would of carried them to finals if the 21 didn’t kick them out, the minimum number PM needed by that judge was 16

Oh yeah super perplexed by the 21. I thought they were wayyyyy cleaner than that. Would love to hear the comments. Thought there was quite the demand and they pulled it off so who knows

I also found it weird that Shadow Creek's woodwinds got third to last. Did anyone else that was watching feel like they deserved higher ? Or did you guys think they were judged accurately.

I feel like the judges really just focus on getting the 10 to finals and then judge more accurately after that.

That’s why it’s always kinda weird results

This is typically the general approach I have heard...Like obviously they want to get it correct in prelims, but its more about choosing the top X amount of bands to judge in finals.

Area E bands at state. I got to see all but Pearland and Dickinson (I performed in Dickinson’s show), here are the results.

all I know is that there a lot of schools moving down in this area unfortunately we might have nearly 25 next year

I’m happy that Barber’s Hill moved up! I remember in 2024 I saw their airplane show and I really enjoyed it. Excited to see how they do at Area
