does anyone else think it’s crazy how liberty, heritage, and (maybe memorial) made finals but emerson didn’t? Great job to them but a lot of these rankings seem way off of what was popularly guessed

I've seen Emerson a few times, thought they were good enough for Finals.

This is what I know for prelims results (just by asking around)

1st either Wakeland or Mckinney North HS

2nd is Lone Star

3rd is Wakeland or Mckinney North HS 

7th Liberty HS

8th Memorial (i think)

9th Reedy HS

11th Emerson Hs 

13th Melissa HS

17th Frisco HS

 

Some of the band directors haven't told their bands what they got yet.

100%!  I watched the early ones and am shocked Emerson and The Colony didn’t make it.

Congratulations to all the finalist!! Def a little surprised not to see Emerson or The Colony in finals, but as myself and others said, making the night show was going to be super hard regardless of how well your program has done at previous contest, and this goes to show that. Can't wait to see results, best of luck to all our finalist!

Definitely some varied judging opinions, the colony placed 12 and had 2 state qualifying placements in different captions, but got 2nd to last in another caption throwing off the placement

I didn’t stay for TC because they were amazing last week and I assumed they’d make finals this week! (Not a TC parent)  The show was amazing imo.  Maybe this morning  was troubled, but that show truly evokes emotions and was well-performed. Now I’m very upset I didn’t stay for it this AM. I wanted to record it.
