  1. But basically it’s asking if there is a design to the show, and Wakeland has a really good design.
  2. Here are my top 3 predictions: 1. Rouse 2. Wakeland 3. Cedar Park Let me explain why I think Wakeland has a good chance. They lost to Leander by a point in the finals at the super regional, but GE killed Wakeland, and there is no GE. Also, I just like Wakeland's show a lot more than theirs. The tuba solo and trombone solo are cool, but their show just doesn't meet the expectations of that show!
  3. This can all change with the same judges in finals and no different judges throughout the day!
  4. I agree with the fact that many band parents fuel the conflicts between bands, especially online. I'm just surprised someone had the audacity to post about it here.
  5. I didn’t get to watch it, but I heard a lot of good competition is coming from there.
  6. Also, Lonestars Show is very mediocre this year. Their music is good, but their drill needs improvement. Additionally, their drill doesn't compare to some of the bands ahead of them. Personally, I preferred last year's show.
  7. I agree with these placements. Rouse, Cedar Park, and Wakeland have truly left a mark this season. Rouse, sitting at the top, brings a show with some seriously challenging drill work. Their commitment to precision and musicality is evident, but the intricate drill formations mean that one small misstep could lead to a domino effect in certain sets. It's like watching a 5A drum corps take on a marching band performance, and it's fascinating to see their level of discipline and skill. Cedar Park, in the second spot, offers a show that's simply stellar. Their performance is a testament to their exceptional skill and artistry. They perform with a precision and coordination that rivals the best drum corps. Their show's musicality, combined with complex drill work, creates a mesmerizing experience for the audience. Wakeland, in the third position, is a musical powerhouse. Their incredible musicality is beautifully complemented by intricate drill formations, which are not only complex but also visually stunning. It's almost as if they've taken a page from the drum corps book with their precision and the seamless integration of music and movement. The "Finals Bubble" adds an exciting twist to the competition, with Lebanon Trail, Richland, Foster, and Lake Benton all vying for a spot in the finals. These bands bring their unique strengths and creativity to the table, making the finals a tantalizing spectacle of talent.
  8. Heres the link to scores https://www.smbc.uiltexas.org/area/results/files/area-23_5A Area B.pdf Here's my rundown. Wakeland did a fantastic job as they won all 1s and beat Lonestar by 6 points in finals. Wakeland always seems to perform much better during finals, which is amazing. If only they could perform like that during prelims. But I have to admit, Wakeland's show is designed for BOA, which is much better than most shows. On the other hand, if Lonestar had a BOA designed show, they would also be really good. Just imagine if Wakeland and Lonestar combined their talents, it would be a powerhouse! Great job to all the other bands! Wakeland's performance was better than BOA Proser Finals.
  9. LT!! Wow!! Absolutely chilling!! Love the ice theme ❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️ But don't worry, I'll bring my own hot cocoa!
  10. If this is a prediction for final placement, I really think Wakeland is getting first. They had a really bad run compared to BOA Prosper. I hope they will lock in tonight!
  11. The stadium is super foggy. Hopefully, it clears up before the first performance, or it could be bad for them. (The internet over here is terrible, so I will only comment on important things.)
  12. Wow, I did not expect that! But as Crunchy Cookie said, they had a good time slot, so it's going to change. I can really feel it. However, hopefully, Wakeland doesn't see this and let it affect them too much.
  13. I agree with that. UIL judging is very inconsistent these days due to UIL's new judging system implemented 2 years ago.
  14. I'm hearing from Lone Star kids that their director said they won, but there’s nothing out to confirm. there drill was kind of dirty and lots of stick outs so I do not think so.
  15. Here is the schedule 8:15 Walnut Grove 8:30 Lebanon Trail 8:45 Memorial 9:00 lone star 9:15 McKinney North 9:30 The Colony 9:45 Emerson 10:00 Centenial 10:15 Wakeland 10:30 Argyle
  16. I'm currently not there, I'm out getting dinner. I will try to see if someone I know can send me the awards!
  17. From a parent at Walnut Grove: A drunk driver hit the woodwinds bus. They were shaken up, but they took all the kids in that bus to be checked out at a doc-in-a-box ER that's right at that intersection, and everyone checked out fine. They gave the kids the option of coming to UIL or calling it a day, and they wanted to come. They are hoping to make it here in time to warm up. So scary!!!
  18. Melissa High School's performance was fantastic! I'm really excited to see how you all do!
  19. I agree with you on that. I can't wait to watch some of the other performances tonight. All the bands are doing great. I can't wait for finals! (If they have it) my predictions for now are: Wakeland Lonestar (haven't performed yet) OR LT McKinney North The Colony
  20. As I watched the Wakeland marching band perform, I couldn't help but be amazed by their incredible performance. Their precision, musicality, and sheer energy made it the best show I had seen all day. The clarinet section, in particular, caught my attention. At one point during the performance, it seemed like a clarinet player dropped something. However, they quickly recovered and seamlessly continued with the show, demonstrating their professionalism and dedication. It was a small hiccup in an otherwise flawless performance.
