two wrongs dont make a right. you represent your program when you make comments, and those words make or break the integrity and core of the program itsself. be careful with what you say online because it can bite you hard.

Honestly I don't see Berkner making third but I certainly believe they have a chance making fourth place, I've seen their show a couple of times and they seem very consistent, can't wait to see how they preform on Tuesday.

I am not denying Rockwall is good, and truthfully with the right run, they could get in, but chances are slightly low.

This might have already been discussed, but this thread has been hot the last couple of days and don’t feel like reading through all the previous pages, but why was this contest moved to Tuesday — and it’s needless to say what is happening that day — instead of Monday, the proposed inclement weather date?

It got moved to tuesday due to the “rain” on saturday that never happened. Heard about UIL completely ignoring meteorologist and pushing to delay area. Definitely an interesting move on their part but you live and you learn 🙈

Sure. Because I’m biased and I’m rooting for my kids and their friends and their directors. 
 

Outside if that, I feel like there are 5 bands that have a 90% chance of taking the 4 state spots based on year as a whole. Waxahachi, Forney, Ducanville, Forney, and Rockwall.  Many I have seen have Wax and some Wax and Forney as locks. But i feel like those 5 could go in any order and I would not be shocked.

Womp. I’m not a Texan so I’m not familiar with the forecast, but just looked at the forecast this morning and it said sunny for tomorrow and Tuesday, and now just looked again and it says rain for both days.

Yeah I knew they moved it due to weather, but the inclement weather date on UIL’s website is listed as the 4th, not the 5th, so I was wondering why UIL chose the 5th. But I see now that weather tomorrow is looking worse than Tuesday so I guess I shouldn’t question it lol.

You listed Forney twice. I presume you meant to type Sachse?

It sucks that one band will be left out, I believe Wax, Forney, DVille, Rockwall, and sachse have amazing shows that could go to state in most other areas if not in this one. I’m super excited to see how Tuesday pans out with these bands and I am super excited to march my last area comp!

Just tossing this out there, Forney might not be a lock for state👀 Seen a couple of clips from them and they’re honestly pretty dirty. They were some old-ish clips though so it could’ve changed🤷‍♂️ As of for sachse, i’m itching to see what they have been up to. haven’t heard much from them since waco.

I’ve just heard of this and I don’t know for sure, but are they seriously taking away the full band retreat at the end? Like I’m sorry but you’re making us do this competition on a Tuesday and then also taking that away? Literally the 2nd best thing about making finals? The most impactful experience of the competitions? I just don’t get why they want to take that away from us. Me personally it is almost the best thing about the Area Marching Contest.

they’re probably much better now, they’ve dropped a comp to get better, and it showed during parent performance. whenever they’re at area, they’ll show it. i know the directors are handling any parts that seem unbalanced or dirty.

It's due to it being a school night. Getting students off the field can take quite a long time after retreat.

I understand that, but that is the most fun thing about the whole area competition. Just getting to talk to and play around with other band kids from different schools is so fun and where you create the most memories. I would completely sacrifices my sleep to be able to do that retreat.
