Garland: Great use of props, I really liked the moment in the ballad where the entire ensemble encircles the cage as the ballad climaxes. Speaking of ballad, really enjoyed hearing Bluecoats 2019 there. Woodwinds stole the show for me here. Great job Garland!

 John Horn: Nice job mellos and soloists in the opener. Always love hearing Adele on the field and that gliss in the ballad was chefs kiss. Great job y’all!

Tyler Legacy with some nice moments….

Tyler Legacy: Digging these uniforms and that cool visual moment when they turn around in the opener. Lots of curling visuals that make the drill feel very free flowing as performers make it from dot to dot along with some cool choreo as well. Nice job!

Lake Highlands…enjoyed the drum-line a lot. The durling trios was interesting. Some great sounds throughout. Not sure what to make Of the moment where everyone kneels for colorguard dance but still very solid. I think they will make finals.

Lake Highlands: First thing that pops to me is the color palette and symmetry in the design. Great job on those runs mellos. Lots of cool stuff going on with the guard and the ensemble does a great job of utilizing the entire field. That trumpet and trombone duet really showed out. Awesome job probably one of my favorite visual packages today so far.

Irving….ok Irving. You might not be a large and powerful band but you make some beautiful sounds. Really enjoyed the mid show soloist. You fill the field despite your size. Awesome job. Should be very proud of your show!

Irving: Nice job on those runs high brass! Great job trumpet soloist leading the ensemble into the Yellow hit. Super exposed stuff there performed very well! Some nice trade offs happening between brass and woodwinds here in the closer and outstanding job from the color guard soloist in the ballad. Great job Irving!

I have only seen this block so far, but so far from this block, I think Lake Highlands has a chance of securing a Finals Spot compared to Tyler Legacy and Irving. No disrespect to the bands as everyone is proud of their performances and so are the parents, but I don’t think Tyler Legacy and Irving will be making finals.

Rockwall: Cool trumpet fanfare! They’ve cleaned a lot since the first time I saw them. That Mars moment where the entire ensemble marches in unison caught me off guard in a good way! This show is packed to the brim with detail and if you blink you might miss something. These kids are hungry and state is definitely in the cards with the right run tonight. See you in finals.

Rockwall is definitely a finals contender. My only worry with Rockwall is giving the judges too much to judge (iykyk) which could place them right outside of the Top 4. Overall, loved the show.

Rockwall Heath. Way to

work hard throughout the season and get better with each performance. Felt today was best music I have heard from them. Way to go. Let’s get both RISD bands in finals!

Duncanville! Classic UIL Show! This was a show I can very much confirm will definitely be Advancing to State.

Overall, I think (in no particular order) Duncanville, Lake Highlands and Rockwall will be in finals (from this block). Duncanville definitely has the right recipe for success in this competition. Even as far as pulling off 1st place. Rockwall can be a high contender for advancing to state. Although, I believe they’ll place just below advancing to state.

Dville: I’ll try to keep this unbiased but great job. The trombone and trumpet duet did a great job in that Beatles section. I thought every section did a great job holding their own and the crown set with the Finale from the Six musical is a fitting ending. Have really enjoyed watching Dvilles progress and hoping for another great run tonight and one of those state spots!
