Oboeish20 Posted October 9, 2024 Posted October 9, 2024 Honestly I am torn on Pasadena Memorial. I like their show and the visual content for sure but there sound is just harsh. They are loud but not very polished. I think visually they will be in finals but music will be out of finals. TheSV-001Gamer and Online Marcher 2 Quote

Oh yeah absolutely. I'm surprised they got the music caption at their last contest, but not visuals. It's very weird. It sounds like it's getting better, the volume is there, now can we hear colors, and intonation? It's just is everybody pushing air correctly? Or are we forcing it. After Baytown definite improvement from Alvin, but we have to hear more improvement this Saturday. Because I know they know that it's harsh, because of the in detail scores of their first contest now it's time to apply what they've learnt. Or they are at jeopardy Quote

I totally forgot about them I would put them in 10-12 which sadly might remove ridge point or george ranch from finals contention which sucks. This area has gotten so much more competitive since covid which will make this year and the following years results interesting. Quote

Like how you gonna leave the school who went to state in 1980-1983 4 times consecutively. Like they still got that dawg in them and could beat pearland. TheSV-001Gamer Posted October 11, 2024 Posted October 11, 2024 I just heard there was a Hydrogen Sulfide leak from a Refinery at Deer Park that's already killed one person, and has spread to Pasadena, La Porte, and Pearland. Most of the bands, and Deer Park were most likely rehearsing at the time that this leak started... Let's hope they are ok, and everybody else in Pasadena and Deer Park, La Porte, and Pearland. They were one place out of state last year and now people are saying that they won't make finals. Have they had a serious drop-off? Clements has had a rough start, placing 8th at Alvin ISD Invitational and 5th at US Bands Baytown. They look to be improving, but with how competitive area E is this year, who knows where they’ll end up. Here are my current predictions: 1. Pearland 2. Dickinson 3. Foster 4. Dawson 5. Fulshear 6. Pasadena Memorial 7. Clements 8. Clear Brook 9. SFA 10. Clear Lake 11. Shadow Creek 12. Clear Falls 13. Brazoswood 14. Travis 15. Clear Springs 16. Ridge Point I completely disagree here. 1-2 seems okay but everything below that is just a mess. Even though foster did exceptionally well in 5A area i don't see them beating Dawson here. also both Clements and Pasadena memorial are not in a position to overtake schools like clear brook, SFA , and shadow creek. I think i would have Pasadena memorial still just making finals but Clements has definitely been on the fall off so i don't have them making finals. My list would be 1. Pearland 2. Dawson 3. Dickinson 4. Clear Brook 5. Shadow Creek 6. Foster 7. SFA 8. Fulshear 9. Clear Lake 10. Brazoswood 11. Pasadena Memorial 12. Clear Falls ---------------- 13. Clements Quote
Popular Post SubZer0 Posted October 12, 2024 Popular Post Posted October 12, 2024 By no means do my predictions reflect how area will go, I am ranking based on my opinions, and I am definitely not a judge. Clements and Pasadena Memorial both looked really good at US bands last weekend, I wouldn’t count them out just yet. Like I said, this area has stepped up a lot from last year, so good luck to all the bands on the rest of their seasons! TheSV-001Gamer, Online Marcher, lizzard2027 and 1 other 4 Quote

We have reached that point of the season where our bands are now entering from their regular season, to their playoff season (preparing for UIL or already performed at UIL Region) Bands are now getting focused for the next few weeks until Area! These Power Rankings I'm basing off the Katy Marching Festival, Channelview Marching Festival, and Lone Star Preview. And to the bands who didn't compete at all, I'm simply basing the content of their show and difficulty, and how well it has been being cleaned compared to the shows with slightly less difficulty taking into account the cleanliness they've reached, and how it varies against more complex shows! My finals ranking at this point: Pearland Dawson Dickinson SF Austin Clear Brook Foster Fulshear Clear Lake PaM Clements Clear Falls Shadow Creek ——————- The biggest unknowns to me are what Foster and Fulshear will bring to the table on Nov 2. My rankings are a combination of past performances and the history of certain bands hitting their peak just in time for Area/State. Dawson and Brook historically start out slower, but get hot when it matters. TheSV-001Gamer, BandAlumMom, SubZer0 and 2 others 5 Quote
