Xenon Posted July 11, 2006 Report Share Posted July 11, 2006 I just uploaded to the Media section a recording of Richland's drum major from 2004 and 2005 playing Carnival of Venice on the Alto Sax (I believe this is the way it was meant to be played, but I could be wrong.) with North Ridge MS backing him up at their 2005 Pre-Midwest concert. It is absolutely amazing. At first it is just kind of a standard walking march and then about 3 minutes in the soloist gets all these crazy runs and you think this is what the song is all about, but then about 4 minutes in..... But yeah, its pretty sweet. Our top trumpet from last year could play a lot of it on the french horn, lol. He was a friggin hos. Anyways, if your really wanna here some crazy stuff, look up the Carnival of Venus, Vizzuti's own take on this style of piece. He wrote and performed it.
