Dynasty.. We just can't to admit how much we love txbands.. and you, of course.
-
Well, I don't want to know anything further of that.. please.
-
Wow, I love the confidence.
-
Oh snap! All-region. FUN! Heh, you guys should be happy that its coming. I am telling you. You have to be confident and know that you will do good in order to do good. Think of it as a chance to SHOW OFF!
-
which is why it should never happen
-
Or could be that they just minimized it and took a quick screen shot.
-
I did, but to get my CD player out of it. Heh, I guess that doesn't count. Yet, its only Tuesday..I want Friday to come fast!!!
-
That's why I say no in section dating, unless you are destined to be together.

Internal Competition

I would have to say.. We only have one chair test per semester. I am sure Mr. Christain knows what he is doing. It takes lots of time to find chair placements and you have so little time to prepare concert peices. Think about it, chair tests take almost a week, in my band at least. It's a stressful job. It is also stressful on students because they have to keep learning different parts. A band director doesn't have the time to get the person to be really good on that part..and you just can't afford the risk of constant changing of parts. Middle school is not High school, where Miss T gave us a chair test every 6th weeks. That's only because she let us stay on our parts. I am sure Mr. Christain were to do that, that would be find, but I am sure that the main reason for chair test is to get different parts and to have the ego you want. At our school I let you know more about it. We get one chair test per semester. RARELY, Doc would allow challenges. The first challenge goes to any person in your section. For example, 6 chair would want to challeng me, 1st chair. If she beats me she gets to get ahead of the other people and take my chair. If she loses, she remains 6th chair..and other challenges would have to won one at a time. We turn in tapes, btw. -

Do you hate UIL?
chickora replied to QuadraticBeats's topic in Everything Music: Marching, Concert, Auditions and more
Chris, Chris..always ranting. My opinion on UIL. I think people take it for granted just because you don't get placed at region, however you do at area and state. The rules are quite fair. I do believe it's good that we have state years every other year. Texas, yes, being a competetive state, tend to "overwork" children. I am sure they have got many complaints. Having these set of rules makes it easier on the kids. I don't know about you, but I rather have SOME free time during marching season. Chris, btw, thanks for joining. -
I mean, I don't suck at it. It's just that my grammar and spelling is crappy. My creative writing and reading level is fairly high.
-
I find that really interesting. I think its weird how each person has the disadvantages and advantages.. Like mine, English. I can't spell worth a crap, but manage to pass it with like 91. When it comes to Math.. Heh, I am taking Pre-AP Alg. 2, I got a 96 in the class, that's only because I forgot on homework assignment.
-
What math are you taking?
-
We have about I am guessing 20 saxs. They are all relatively good. Most of them are our "class clowns". That's because they are all seniours.. Then again, they acted like that last year.
-
You should give a lesson for all of us "technical" challenged people.. Well, at least on this subject.
-
Well, I survived my day of school. Obviously, since I am here right now. I found out I am passing all my classes with decent grades. Except, W. History, but I only have a 84 in that class. Go figure. Anyways, about that essay thing. No thanks!! I like to do all my work on my own. It helps me learn.
-
