  1. I hope so too! I have a good friend at Fossil Ridge who plays horn and I haven't seen her in a while. It'd be great to get to finals to see these bands perform in the first place, it's nice to go to a competition with bands who are known to be good.
  2. I'll be there, and that's definitely some tougher competition than we see at the usual competitions we go to.
  3. http://www.customink.com/designs/fhorn2009...p;cm_ite=design This was our shirt this year (too bad we didn't get to use it at State ). We don't really have many slogans, sometimes we say "On three, 1, 2, 3...HOORAH" which is kind of lame, and before all of our performances we do our handshake and say "Unleash the beast!" Next year (when I'm section leader, hopefully) we're probably going to come up with a few more things to do and make us more of a section, we're kind of scattered.
  4. Region 2 5A qualifying for Area A today: Fossil Ridge Keller (Central) Keller Northwest
  5. Our battery is doing surprisingly well, they've really stepped it up since last year. The pit is doing well too, but they're having some definite issues with timing. They made third at the Crowley contest and at the two competitions we've been to (Golden Triangle and Aledo) they've gotten the drumline caption.
  6. We go from 7-8:15 (sometimes pushing 8:30) every morning. I think in two weeks we're moving it to after school from 4:30-6:30 with the exception being game days. Then on competition days we generally have a one-hour practice before we get ready and load the buses.
  7. We haven't really had any problems this year...the worst that has happened is mic failures during the performance, but those weren't huge issues. No injuries so far!
  8. Haha, he's the colorguard instructor at my school too (Northwest).
  9. I've seen: L.D. Bell (I was most excited for this one and it really lived up to my expectations) Argyle Frisco Centennial North Crowley Juan Seguin Saginaw Western Hills Azle Aledo Weatherford Burleson and those are all that I really remember.
  10. A part of the flute solo "Density 22.5" is at the beginning of our show, plus there's a saxophone solo and a clarinet solo in the second movement and then a soprano voice solo in the third movement. We also have speaking parts in every movement.
