Anyone know what's going on with Sharyland HS? From what I've heard they marched a ineligible student in a past contest and had to self report themselves for doing so, leading to disqualification?

Congratulations to all the bands, finalists, and Davenport, Calallen, Floresville, Valley View, and AC Jones on advancing to state last night! This year was definitely a fun one. Now I might be a little early on this but the 2026 realignment could shake things up in this area for the next year. Some of the heavy hitters in this area could potentially be moved up to 5A next year, looking at Davenport and Valley View since they are right under the 5A cutoff

Today is the regional contest for all bands in this area, (regions 11-12-14-15-28) Good luck to everyone! Hope all bands get a 1 so there’s a 6th state spot and 12 final spots

been seeing some videos and going to a few competitions with bands in this area. since I feel like this area is gonna be really tight with finalists, here's my first predictions for now...(6 state spots if all 30 bands advance to area, but probably gonna just be 5) 1. Davenport - self explanatory absolute dominance 2. Calallen -same thing as davenport they might even have a chance to fight davenport for the area title 3. Valley View - they have been doing insanely well compared to last year, and been fighting up there with some of the top 5a/6a bands down in the rio grande valley, like top half in finals of boa mcallen full of 5a/6a's? now that's just wow, they are for sure a threat for the top 2 in finals, state final potential too? 4. Floresville - also a really good band, stepped it up from last year with more challenging music and drill, feel like it might just be behind Valley view though, also been getting very positive results in their contests 5. Grulla - major improvement compared to last year, they have placed 1st in 4A and 3rd overall at calallen's Bay Area marching contest and placed 1st in 4A and 2nd overall at robs town crossroads marching contest this past weekend and have beat finalist bands like AC Jones and Port Isabel. 6. AC Jones - been doing pretty decent in their past few contests, 2nd in 4A at Bay Area should put them here 7. Port Isabel - 3rd in 4A at Bay Area should also put them here 8. Hidalgo - haven't seen them much, but they usually do well regardless 9-10 (or 12 if all 30 bands make it to area) - could honestly go to anyone, ill let y'all decide on this one

Just came back from BOA McAllen, and just wow, Valley View is looking really strong this year, they can definitely be up there with Davenport and Calallen. State finals too? 👀 Speaking of Davenport and Calallen, anyone have any idea on how they've been doing so far this year?

My very early predictions are that Davenport and Calallen will continue to be the powerhouses of this Area, with Floresville behind them too. While i can’t really come up with a full list of my finalist predictions yet, some of my honorable mentions that could potentially make state are AC Jones, Valley View, Grulla, Hidalgo, and Port Isabel
